Love monthly reading recaps! Here's my list of reads for February. I will say that I go through a lot of audio books especially on my commute or while I'm at the gym 1. A Memory Called Empire by Arkady Martine, it was pretty good but I don't think I'm going to continue the series as its just not for me 2. The Perfect World of Miwako Sumida by Clarissa Goenawan, I liked this a lot but have some personal complaints for the ending. Such an interesting exploration of loss and depression 3. Rogue Squadron by Michael A. Stackpole, it's a Star Wars book and if anyone is interested in Star Wars especially the original trilogy then this is a must read 4. Clytemnestra by Costanza Casati, really good book following the life of Clytemnestra a Princess of Sparta who married Agamemnon and how she took power back for herself 5. The Years of Rice and Salt by Kim Stanley Robinson, alternate history where the Bubonic Plague killed 99% of Europe. It was an interesting comment but just wasn't for me 6. The Underworld by Susan Casey, it's about the deep ocean and the creatures that are found down there. Would recommend 100%, best nonfiction book I've read so far this year 7. Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen, I'll admit I read this because a woman I went on a date with said she loved it as a teen and I wanted something to talk to her about 8. A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson, two men with 0 camping and backpacking experience backpack through the Appalachia trail which crosses 4 or 5 US states 9. The Secret Lives of Color by Kassia St. Claire, fun and interesting to pick up and flip to a random color that you like to learn about it's history 10. Andrew Jackson by H.W. Brands, turns out no matter how Pro of a biography he gets Andrew Jackson is still a monster and complete piece of work

I read the Predator in February because it was so highly recommended and it was so poorly written, I was so disappointed by it. It was the debut for this author and I’ve heard the writing gets better but I don’t think I’ll be able to try it again 😬 RuNyx just came out with a gothic dark academia book called Gothikana that I’m gonna give a shot though

If you like Anime, check out Mashle: Magic and Muscles, i dont know which came out first but Powerless and Mashle: Magic and Muscles are 100% the same story. Mashle: Magic and Muscles is a comedy drama. World of magic, those with no magic are killed by law, older man finds MC and takes him off in to the woods, makes him train his entire life. Now as a young adult, he can preform "magic" but it is just feats of strength and speed. Very funny. Also it is described as One punch man(another great funny anime) meets harry potter. Enjoy

i actually just stopped reading powerless like 250 pages in:/ everyone was hyping it and i was so excited but it's just not a great book in my opinion, i didnt really feel any connection with the characters and i dont know i wish i liked it
