Will have to listen to this while awake. I heard you mention Deerskin, which is on my list, but the rest is a blur 💤 Highlights from a year I barely remember: 7 Prisoners and Black Bear. And I was relieved (after so-so reviews) that I really liked The Night House, cos Rebecca Hall is my favourite!

I always look forward to these videos ❤️ I believe you’ve mentioned in previous videos that you’re a fan of Elena Ferrante (specifically the Neapolitan novels if my memory serves me correctly), so I’m curious to know if you watched the film adaptation of The Lost Daughter that came out recently (and your thoughts on it if so). I hope you’re having an enjoyable start to the new year! :)

@@MauveASMR I did see it - I haven’t read the book so I can’t speak on how successful of an adaptation it is, but taken on its own I think the movie has a lot of merit and I enjoyed it! Olivia Colman is fantastic and does a great job of getting the complexity of the character across (along with the woman who plays the younger version of her). I was also impressed for it being Maggie Gyllenhaal’s directorial debut, I’ll keep an eye out for her future projects now.

I LOVED Josephine Decker's movie Shirley, if you haven't watched it yet. I still need to see Butter on the Latch and this is the push I need to hunt it down! Titane was my favorite of the year, high concept for sure but based on this list, you'd probably dig it. I also really liked The Power of the Dog, and (to a lesser extent) Censor, which is definitely fun if you're a horror film buff. If you liked Bad Hair, I feel like you might enjoy the movie In Fabric from a few years ago. The tone isn't quite the same but they've got some similar vibes.

Wait wait waitttt I didn't realize Shirley was hers! I'll definitely have to watch it now. Oh I forgot to mention The Power of the Dog! I really enjoyed that one -- just super solid, well-acted, beautiful, satisfying. As for Censor, I read about it and think I would obsess over it but horror is something I really have to work up to 😅 Glad to know it'd be worth it though!

Yay another round is from my country Denmark 😍🥳 very good movie! Did you see it with the danish language? I often find movies with another languages than english/American, difficult to concentrate about 😂

@@circling-girl I actually Didnt really used to like him that much. He has a lot of roles, where I find him a bit too much. But movies like another round, after the wedding and the Hunt, he is absolutely amazing in those!

That's crazy I liked bad hair too I think some people were critical of it when it came out for good reasons but mostly I think some people were taking it he had a message to say but it was also kind of like a funish movie
