The reason the oil wasn’t soaking in is because it was applied over shoe cream which contains wax. Wax seals the surface which prevents absorption. Save the shoe cream for calfskin dress shoes and use the oils on harness leather like this so it is moisturized but can still breathe.

Great ! I did quite the same for my 1510 Corcoran jump boots ; oiling them 1st then the other operations ( wich had a bad "spit shine " plastic look when were new ) Now they kick ass .

It seems those boots were previously polished, I tried washing my boots with saddle soap and Dawn to make them lighter and the color didn't change, my boots are almost one year old with light use. They still look new.

I am really glad you stopped with the music. It really took away from the sounds of the cleaning process. By far one of your best videos from an audio perspective. I would say the audio was a touch too loud however please don’t go back to playing music in the background. It really takes away from the asmr experience

А какие щетки лучше использовать, какой марки? 2. Какой шампунь использовали? У меня винги 8085, боюсь, что потемнеют сильно, все почему то рекомендуют mink oil, но от него темнеют сильно.

답변이 늦었습니다! 내부도 인솔로 되어있다면 간단하게 델리케이트크림정도 발라주면 좋습니다! ㅎㅎ 하지만 레드윙처럼 내부가죽이 있는게 아니라 그냥 통가죽이라면 바르면 안되요 ㅎㅎ 내부는 발라줘도 되지만 충분히 말리고 신으셔야합니다 안그럼 발냄새가 심해져요 ㅜㅠ

Thanks for comment! that bees wax is not sticky :) It's very soft and smooth :) but It's sticky If you use Vaseline Leather sole guard is good for leather welt :)

How much does this service cost?

Saphir products are very good but are not in budget of many. Please suggest other things which do the work.

I prefer the matte rugged look before polishing them up and making em shiny. But to each their own.

James Probably leaher soap 🧼 that is used for cleaning dirty leather.

Still not advisable to completely soak a leather boot. Use as little water as possible to make a lather with the saddle soap and wipe clean with a rag

As i've seen in your videos you use Saphir to condition Iron Rangers. What's your opinion in Black Rock Leather one? I think it does a good job at maintaining the natural colour of the boot after the use of it. Saphir seems to darken it. Thanks for your videos and hope for an answer!

Not sure if you should use water, cause it seems to me that water could damage the leather layer of insole through outsole

@@ZacTexC Sorry about the confusing, I'm suggesting use a brush or sponge, dip it into a bowl of cleanser & water mix (see I still use water but not flushing directly), using the sponge to rub the surface or dirt, then clean them with dry cloth

Yes, just dry them off. Leather is skin and you soak your skin in the shower

As often as it needs it. I know that sounds like a trite and flippant answer, but it all depends on your use of the boots. If they are worn every day, they will need care more often. Whether they are in clean or dirty environments will change the type of care needed. Dress boots use different products to work boots. It basically boils down to: if you see a need to clean or condition your boots, do it.

Can you, or someone else, explain what the different stuff does? I assume the first one cleans! But the rest? Why do you put on 3 different compounds after cleaning? I'm not questioning why, I'm just genuinely curious

those are moisturizers. leather is basically skin, and it needs to be moisturized in order to stay tough and supple. if leather gets too dry, it can crack. different moisturizers contain different things for different applications, but generally one is enough for most. he used more products here to get them shinier.

He over wet them. Once they dried, it most likely dried out the leather

It is very important to lubricate the threads very well, even a higher priority than leather since they do not have natural oils and if they are not lubricated it is easier for them to break.

@@karbonkevin919 yeah! And he stripped the color. I wonder what he used on them to wash. RW even says that kiwi saddle soap is too harsh for their copper rough and touch . I assume they don’t recommend it for their Amber Harness either.
