book girlies assemble!! i'm going to eat this entire video up. i'm so happy to see you back! you look so pretty 😭 it's so cool to me to see your face while you whisper because i was so used to just hearing your voice and seeing your hands (sometimes i would try to guess what you would look like subconsciously, and somehow i was way off while also being really close?). i just love the way you speak. the words you use just tickle my brain in the right way---like the way a good conversation does, minus the tingles. cannot wait to fall asleep to this!

You’ve officially convinced me to read A Gentleman in Moscow! I actually unhauled it a while ago but I will definitely be adding it back onto my TBR after hearing you talk about it. I really enjoy the concise and in depth way you talk about each book, I can really gauge whether I would enjoy the book based on what you’re saying. When you said Erin Morgernstern is really adept at writing to a certain aesthetic I was thinking “YES! That’s exactly it!” I loved The Night Circus for that reason, it was so atmospherically and whimsical. I would love to hear what you thought about the books you hauled❤

Your garden sounds beautiful!! Glad that Eileen is one of your faves, I think you’ll enjoy MYORAR. Also I liked the starless sea for the same reasons you did!! I think it had more complex ideas/themes than the night circus in terms of playing with the ideas of fate and such, but I still don’t know whether I’d rather visit the night circus or the starless sea as fantastical settings…! Love indie bookstores & indie used bookstores so much❤

Agreed totally about the themes! Night Circus was more fun, but Starless Sea was more thought provoking. Loved both of them!

I wish I could 😭 but unfortunately I had to move away from my garden 💔 luckily my parents live next door and they were able to harvest the last of my plants!!

omg it’s been a while seen i’ve heard someone mention a great and terrible beauty!! i’m not really into historical romantasy anymore but i remember /devouring/ the trilogy as a young teen within a few days. i’m sure i’d feel differently about it now as an adult but it’ll always have a special place in my heart :’)

I admittedly remember very little about the plot, so I can’t vouch for how it has aged. I do remember staying up until sunrise finishing the series and being gobsmacked 😂 there’s nothing better than ravenously reading under the covers!
