As a girl, I feel the same was as Asmon about gender locks. I have a hard time with male characters because it feels *weird* to have a male representation of me. I don't comment on people who play the opposite gender, I'm happy for them to have a choice as much as I have a choice. But it just isn't right for me, personally. And that's the power of choice.

For anyone wondering the opening clip is from an animator on youtube and twitter by the name 'Telepurte'. He posts short clips close to daily that are similar to that clip.

If my FF14 character was suddenly transported into LA and his first quest npc was the animation, he'll be just looking at the npc listening to every word and, after all, the dialog he'll just nod and get the quest accepted text along with the ShB quest tune.

I should sleep but this is more important lol

Pretty much, it is why I haven't ever used pay to win features or the like outside of actual DLC in a few games that don't really have microtransactions already. Free To Play on everything shows who is really into the grind and who isn't lol

at 7:50 with the fox/hound meme I think one of the defining factors will be the fact that the person who 'worked hard' likely has a greater level of skill than the person who bought their way to the Ilvl. Any raidgroup worth a shit will look at the two and take skill over better numbers because the skilled player will likely be more willing to put in the effort to research mechanics beforehand as well as an optimized build, they'll also likely die less which means even with less gear they will do more damage in the long run and that's ultimately more important. EDIT: Not only that, the person who's worked hard may already have successful clears with proof of such whereas the guy wearing all golds only has his AH receipts in his mail and his transactions in his credit account on his banking app. People who are willing to take shortcuts to get to max ilvl are also people who are willing to take shortcuts to try and get into your raid group. They will do minimal research, just enough to vaguely explain the mechanics if asked but not enough to really *KNOW* them.

As a Korean I think why Korean people are generous to the P2W games are because of their past experience. Korean have grown up with nexon games that is a huge platform of f2p games. Because console games are too expensive. You have to buy a console and also have to buy game packages that cost about $50 . So kiddos decide to play free games like Maple Story and they were also P2W. And that kiddos are grown up now it is sure that they are familliar to P2W games. But i don't think P2W games are not that bad. It just a defferent aproach to games between eastern and western player. Those games made me happy even though they are P2W. Sry for bad English XD

In LostArk's defence the game is very entertaining if you are not constantly thinking on the EndGame, I think that's what the creator meant when asked about pay to win to play the game and take our time, if we want to rush we won't be able to compete with people who spend all their wallet so why rush? Just enjoy the game cause unfortunately, it's pay to win.

I've been saying "the consumer has the power" for years but the thing is you have to get enough people not dealing with a company or a product for the company to take notice and have to change. I see a lot of people getting pissed off at this or that and some decide not to deal with the company or product but most don't so the company can look and say "Yeah, only 1-2% of the people aren't using our product, we're still making billions, screw the rest". But if 60-80% of the people stopped using the product or company then they 'd have to change or die. Some people see that, some don't and some don't care because companies try to make you think you need them or their product, that you'd die without it but most of the time that's just not true, it's just marketing. Look at gas prices. During the lock-down when people weren't driving prices down down but companies knew when people started driving again they can raise them back up. If people decided to not use Shell, or Cheveron or Mobile the company would then know we're fed up and think "Oh shit, we have to lower our prices". But enough people have to do this, the stations have to almost be barron of customers, they have to be losing enough money they feel the hurt because that's the only way companies listen is if you hurt their pocket book then they say "Oh we need to make a change". So yes we are the change but people aren't willing to do what it takes so companies will keep doing shitty things.

I love Lost Ark, I have so much fun with it. I do agree that it's p2w though. It's not enough to make me upset, I've spent very little $35) and have gotten a lot out of it. I have not been to the tippy top of t3 and I KNOW the p2w is worse there, but I don't think it'll be enough to make me upset. I want to beat the last boss. I have decent skill, hopefully I can beat her without opening up my wallet any more. I also want my buddy who didn't spend a dime to beat her too, and I'm going to help him do it if I can. I think tier 4, whenever it comes out, will really determine the longevity of this game in the West.

Lost Ark has not been supposed to be the game for profit, chairman of Stove (company of Lost Ark) ,fan of mmorpg, just wanted to make one of the best games and has invested tons of money without caring any cost. And here we are.

idk or care about p2w, I still have played neverwinter for years and basically just collect pets and mounts for fun in that game. I'm not a group player or min maxer in mmos and take it slow in mmos and guess what I bet i eventually beat lost ark and never spend a dime because it's a free game and that's how I treat it, enjoy the story-kill stuff-collect mounts and pets-move onto the next mmo lol it's not moron logic.

My parents bought Morrowind for me 19 years ago for 50 dollars. I'll still play that over some pay to win bullshit. Over 3k for wows sub since it came out? No thanks. Games should cost what they're worth

People act like having a P2W shop in the game prohibits them for any chance of winning, meanwhile they play the game for maybe 10 hrs a week and think they would have a fair chance of "winning" if it was not for the store, unbelievable Guess what, if you don't have the capacities for playing 25 hrs a day you won't "win" in a video game like Lost Ark anyway, no matter the p2w store

Good games get ruined by pay2win because the devs are incentivised to make the "free" experience (even if the game originally had a price tag) terrible enough to where there's a real chance players will spend more money. At this rate, soon you'll be playing games where you get sessions or 10 minutes of actual, good gameplay separated by sets of 50 meaningless fetch quests that are deliberately designed to waste your life, but that you can spend money to skip, or where a player who doesn't invest in micro transactions for their character is deliberately made too weak to clear content. No one is saying you're not allowed to enjoy such games, but it's an indisputable fact that the presence of micro-transactions like power boosts and skips make the game itself worse.
