Crazy how much this is a time-lapse of military history. You grow rapidly and enjoy successive victories through manpower and organized tactics. You end up claiming more land than you can control, spread your units too thin, and whenever you send platoons to regain territory you're beginning to lose your grip on, they're already needed elsewhere. I have zero stakes in this whole reddit thing but it's fascinating for me to watch.

Following the analogy though you would have dozens of large countries fighting, with hundreds in between just trying to size and thrive. Then somehow a country that doesn't always exist they just pop into existence when they feel like it (streamer comes online) with more military power than almost anyone can handle just runs around killing things, then disappears again. Just kinda ruins the whole flow of it IMO, I am with the anti-streamer folk, they really messed up the power dynamics. So you either die, be small and pray you don't die, be so big that you can rebuild soon after, or bot to hell and back.

@@RP-vi8fx Eh in real life no such military has existed. The closest would be the United States military which used its power and influence to its advantage majorly. But it was not so unbelievably powerful that it would stomp around uncontested around the entire world. The closest thing would be super advanced aliens coming down and just destroying things and there was nothing we could do because the level of tech is just that different. Big players like the US, China, and Russia? (recent events question this) might put up a fight and rebuild a bit, but have no hopes if it became a protracted long term thing.

People were mad sure, but the last r/place also was alive. It didn't need massive streamers of doom to do that. The argument of them culling out the weak to make room for new art is BS, that'll happen with or without a streamer. It happened in 2017 just fine. The anger was mostly feeling that a single person killed your hard work on a whim, they didn't fail at doing anything, it was just 1 person being an ass.

But I would never have thought of taking anything IRL, and honestly I think most of the death threats wouldn't either, they just feel strong by being anonymous. But there may be some who would, and that is fucking scary! I just feel they acted directly counter to the spirit of the game is all, and as in any game the players who feel like it is unfair are unhappy about it. Honestly now that it is done the bronies specifically are happy about it all. If it wasn't for the streamers we would have had like 2 or 3 builds, but now we have about a dozen. @@SirLacombes Pirating games doesn't have anything to do with what I said, I stopped pirating games since 10+ years ago, also, the problem with how Asmon handles this subject is that there ARE some nft-s that are actually not a scam, maybe even profitable or valuable to collectors, or some people. But he is saying the whole "industry" is a scam pretty much, which is not completely true, but of course right now, since there isn't enough legislation for this issue, there will be a lot of scammers, thus some countries already started taxing it, and writing laws to protect buyers and sellers. The part where he says "bitcoin is better because its bigger" is also very problematic, since Bitcoin is actually 92% in the hand of a top 0.1% of owners, which may crash the whole market anytime. This shows, he doesn't clearly understand what's going on behind the scenes, he just kind of sees the tree, but not the whole forest.

@@FireyFly Okay, that's understandable and everything. But the problem with the future of NFTs when it comes to gaming is having a game key associated to the buyer being able to access it. Game companies would need to have it where the game keys are reusable which would cause many loopholes like a group of friends to share their keys like sharing a game disc. Another problem is this would lead to everyone becoming a G2A/Ebay equivalent seller. Which doesn't sound like a healthy distribution of digital assets. Basically blitzing through a game in a week and selling it for $10 less or something would become common practice. Why would anyone be inclined to buy a game new at that point? However, we can get into things like games that were taken down for whatever reason. For example the case of Fable 3 Windows version bought digitally which was taken down on all places it was sold. Through the future of NFTs it would allow for redistribution of games like that which I think is pretty cool. However, back to the point of newer games. Through this new system from NFTs game companies would lose a lot of money. There is no buy in bulk with game discs to be redistributed which Gamestop does. Atm sites like Steam don't own any keys they are on a contract of there is no game key till the game is sold. My point is you'd have to remake the whole buying process of digital keys. Steam would have to buy the key from companies and hope someone buys it. That's exactly how Gamestop failed. Gamestop lost a lot of money from unbought new games, cause they directly bought discs from game companies so the companies themselves never lost any possible income.

The technology is legit, but the implementation in most use cases is flawed currently. It is indeed like buying land on the Moon, but remember that selling and buying land on the moon will also be a legitimate thing eventually.

​@@Caydiem selling virtual land is no more dumb than selling ad space on webpages is. Problem is selling virtual land at huge prices for land that nobody (actually) cares about. Its only use case is to be sold. You are basically just beta testing NFT technology.

@@-PureRogue ....NFT isn't just a fucking jpeg of a fucking monkey It has implications for gaming as well, right now buying any games from Steam is basically a one way ticket, the point of having a decentralized system so that your purchase now works TWO WAYS Right now retail can only buy games digitally from the market, imagine being able to RE-SELL those said games once you're done with it This goes for TCG as well I swear to god most of you people's opinion literally came from those 1-2 hr NFT KZread video which doesn't even know what they're talking about

Immutable X is the only NFT related one Lolololol. Monero is actually one of the most stable ones, it is used for privacy unlike BTC which is all available to be looked up. Most govts don't let exchanges list it so way less people price speculate it.
