I was about to miss maghrib after work one day so found a dark alleyway to pray in in the corner. Someone came up to me and aggressively said "what are you doing here?". I explained I'm about to pray and he apologised and said he thought I was about to pee in the corner because that's where people pee a lot. He then directed me to a clean spot somewhere else where I was able to pray in peace. I'll never forget the moment where this random non-Muslim person was so helpful and accommodating.

SubhanAllah i worked in Newark NJ and Orange NJ in a cell phone store and they are all in gangs, so they ask people who they don't know what gang they are with. SubhanAllah everytime i was asked what i "claim", i would say Allah and tell them I'm Muslim. Walhy every single time they go from being serious and wanting to be violent to the most innocent response and smile saying they are Muslim too or are interested in being Muslim. SubhanAllah mentioning Allah to the most violent of people humbles them and softened them right on the spot, happy like little kids SubhanAllah after they were looking for violence. So i guess Islam is the best thing i claim and anyone can claim, especially to gang members lol

It's a strange thing to ask someone. Being Muslim, of course I know the importance of prayer.. But if someone asked me to keep a lookout when they pray, I'd probably find it strange..esp if they think they might get attacked. This social exp doesn't really mean that people who didn't help are selfish or anything. But I'm impressed with the people who stopped to watch over you. ❤️

@@connormcchicken5915 I disagree, if he was a salesman he'd surely either be smartly dressed or wearing something to affiliate his business like a branded his vis or something. Someone in dress for prayer and with a mat I don't see. I genuinely think they saw Muslim and weren't interested. There is a lot of stigma against Muslims in the UK. I should know I fell for it as a teen. And now I am a Muslim myself. In which I never thought would happen, ever.

I should have thought of this. While working one evening I needed to pray Maghrib. Found a decent private spot outside and as finishing I found that someone called the police on me saying they thought I was a crazy person laying on the the ground (sujood) with my shoes off. Mind you they disregarded my prayer mat. Barakallah feek Ali for exposing more people to the way and showing that we should all help each other no matter the beliefs.

Everyone that helped, May Allah guide them to the right path inshallah. The two guys drinking hit the most, even though they were drinking, they have amazing hearts and the fact he said he felt bad that he was drinking next to Ali praying was a huge thing.

Loved how the guys were patient and super cool about it. May Allah SWT guide them.

That's amazing, I don't know why I'm crying 😅. But Alhamdulilah it's nice to see others care as a revert myself I was always open minded to all people before Islam Seeing the kaaba made me emotional due to my experience of performing hajj.

You'd be surprised how helpful and accommodating people can be, if you just ask. During ramadan, I was breaking fast at a restaurant and I asked before ordering if I could pray somewhere and they allowed me to use a back room when it was time. Also while travelling through Italy, I did the same and asked when at restaurants and even in parks. One place though you definitely can't do this is in France, you'll even get people calling the police on you.

Now this is what you call a real social experiment in a real world. Camera shaking, people and vehicles interrupting the whole time, got so many negative responses before first positive one, camera was far away and concealed so as not to be known... Some other people's experiment or pranks are so damn obviously staged or perfected.. 😂 🤣

Some of them saw how he was dressed and assumed he was going to try and tell them about Islam. He could have been asking for directions or giving out money. They didn't even want to know.

Ali just some advice - I wouldn't ask the 2 lads if they have girlfriends and then encourage their girlfriends directly to 'look after them' - it's a haram relationship. You could be earning sin by encouraging that relationship. It's not necessary at all - just thank them and move on.
