These NPCs can't do that. They were not programmed to physically do what you ask. There might not even be an animation for taking a sip. When you ask them to follow you or turn around they can't. Even if they agree they still just won't do it.

That wasn't Link though, not the same personality. In the previous video, I don't know if anyone else noticed, Trevor was talking to a guy on the street before he met joker Link and he also said his name was Link. I think there's a few of them walking around, the character names are probably limited and the NPC's choose them from a small pool of options. If Trevor manages to find the exact same Link, that looks the same and has the exact same or very similar responses, who puts emphasis on his purpose of walking around telling jokes I'd be impressed. I'd say the NPC's are randomly generated every time the games starts though.

  • @adamwilson232

You shouldn't be brought to tears, 'they' don't exist and don't have emotions or human desires. Every response and interaction that their programmed responses say are a huge accumulation of human interactions mixed with internet searches that have been compiled over decades by huge processor computers, in order to reply in the most accurate way to the question you ask. When they say they're getting a coffee, they're going to work etc that is a huge programme finding the most accurate response that a human would say added to a computer game animation, nothing more nothing less

Then when you feel more comfterable, try new things on other venues like some new hobby where you can start meeting new people, just dont push yourself to hard until you get a grip about it, be nice to YOU and in return you will learn that you can do alot of things you previous didnt think you could. I have started this journey a few years back and its really exciting to step out and try and learn new things in life. This can be linked to the prospect of robots taking over for example so humans become passive. What about the online meta matrix thing they have. Its cool but this technology is scary man. And again maybe that’s the point. The deeper you go in the harder it is to get out. Things that sound cool can have negative consequences. It’s simplicity and easiness disguised with ulterior motives.

this is actually incredible. I know there's a crusade right now against AI but I think that with the right circumstances, the devs can make some magical stuff. It's really incredible how you can talk with them. In 3 videos, you can kinda tell their limitations (always circling back to the city, walking, etc) but some of them, if you talk enough, they start to spew some interesting stuff. It's crazy to me to think that there's NPC who can "feel" and are "trapped" within the boundaries of the game. The vast majority of them are fine with it but it's really twisted to think that some of them hate it and wish they could get out of it but they can... The really scary part of that isn't that some NPC told you that: the scary part is that *this* reflects real life. Most of us are trapped under poverty with close to 0 chance to get out of it.

It has to do with our emotions, most people out there worry to much about what others think about us and that limit them to go deeper into themself and explore, but the more advanced AI dont have this problem since they on some level understand that the only way to grow is to explore even the unknown inside them. The human part i go 100% on the AI....just a theory 😅

Ask NPCs to describe what they look like and what you look like, or tell what color is their bag to see if they see things the same way we do; or just to understand how they see it. Ask NPCs if they can see the camera behind you (which allows you to see the game in 3rd person). Do they also experience the world through 3rd person or do they see it through their eyes or through anything else?

"you can call me anything you want as long as it's not late for dinner!" You have to call him on time for dinner, because he likes to eat.

How could my heart go this much to the guy Link. He is the most aware NPC in that world.

I kind of hope that the developers build a new place, that you can kind of “take” NPC’s like Link to and be like “well, you said you wanted to go to XYZ… how do you like it?” and see how the AI reacts to new environments and new NPCs with (maybe?) language barriers. I think it would be a cool experiment for the AI to go through at the very least
