Asking AMEX Platinum Cardholders What They Do For a Living

Went inside the AMEX Centurion Lounge at Los Angeles International Airport to ask some Platinum and Centurion cardholders what they do for a living, how much they spend, and how much they are worth, among many other questions. Enjoy!

I'm not sure why there were so many technical issues with filming/editing this video, but the quality from the raw footage came out pretty awful and the mic was muted for some of the clips. Hope you all enjoy this one but the next one will be MUCH better.

As someone who flies out of Sky Harbor about once a month, yes the Centurion Lounge is not as good compared to others like JFK, Vegas, it is still the best Lounge on Terminal 4, it's the sole reason I applied for the card. Definitely looking forward to trying the LAX lounge in the future. Great content, how did you get so many people to interview? Just curious on the success rate. This is inspiring me try this format on next Phoenix Centurion Lounge visit 😎

Agreed - I have Amex Gold and I found the C1 Venture X to be a really good pair. high multiplier for everyday spending with the Gold. 2x points for all other purchases on the Venture X along with all the extra benefits and protections since it’s a Visa Infinite card. And based on how the statement credits work, the Venture X basically pays me to hold on to the card. Plus, my local airport is small with only a priority pass lounge so its all I need 😅

I think he was including his housing stipend. Because officers in the military don’t really make that much money, even as a nurse. As an O1 he only makes about $65,000 a year. They don’t start making “real money“ until they’re about a captain. Judging by his appearance I really doubt he’s that far into his military career

Wait, the guy says he is spending 300K USD(?) a month but he is not worth even four million USD? That dose not make any economic sense even if he is spending the company's money🤔 Mining, events, government bribes excluded...

You keep emphasizing $695, but the card has more than $600 in annual credits. So the effective fee is not $695. Plus the average income for Platinum card is above $1.3M, go figure.

Please stop saying “ay-mex”. It’s pronounced “am-ex” as in American Express. You wouldn’t say Ay-Mercia unless you’re from Texas. Love your content though. Very informative credit card info and reviews.

Interesting that most people mainly mention the lounges, not mentioning the restaurants credit, the health insurance/cover, and all the other insurance benefits attached to the platinum card. I have an Italian platinum card, cost is 720 euro/year ( 60 euro/month ), I do a decent amount of traveling but not mad, considering the 300 euro worth of restaurants and the 150 euro travel voucher every year, the cost of the card really is 270 euro per year. Nothing for all the benefits included. Amex platinum is not just for rich people, I have a standard salary, but the Amex platinum works for me because of maximizing the benefits. Also Amex charge cards must be paid at the end of every month, this trains you to have better spending habits.
