Mattress Mack, the guy with Houston Astros baseball cap, is absolute treasure and cherished by rich and poor alike. He doesn’t care about money, he cares about community. I remember when Hurricane Harvey hit some big churches were closing their doors but he opened up his huge furniture stores to let poor people in and sleep on his brand new mattresses and sofas. He didn’t care. He won our hearts. Real wealth is humanity and he has it.

I'm old enough to remember when Mac 1st started out. He acted like a goofball on commercials, like a cheap used car salesman; jumping up in the air waving that money. He had the same shtick for 40yrs. As a kid we used to laugh at him. But, it sold furniture. Behind the goofball persona was a hard working savvy businessman. He's too old now to do all that jumping around (although he still tries) and he still sells more furniture in Houston than any other outfit.

And money can’t buy relationship. Not real, true, genuine relationships. It can buy people who will pretend to have a relationship with you, or do certain things with you, but it absolutely cannot buy actual relationships. If giving someone money has to be involved for anyone to have a “relationship” with you, then it isn’t at all a sincere relationship. Many people will certainly act like they want a relationship with you, but what they really want is a relationship with your money, not with you. Not to say someone can’t have a relationship with you if you have money, just that it can’t be real if money has any bearing on whether or not they’re interested in having a relationship with you.

It's actually refreshing to hear someone wealthy (2:10) say that money can buy happiness. So often the cliche that money can't buy hapiness is rolled out it's beyond frustrating and shows a lack of self awarness and empathy. There probably is a limit to how happy money can make you, but it can stop a lot of the things that make you unhappy such as financial worry and stress, and it definitely gives you a lot more opportunities to make you happy. Similarly, the other guy said that relationshis are the currency of life. Great, what affords you the opportunties and time to create good relationships? You guessed it, money....I mean it's hard to spend time with family or meet new people when you're working 3 jobs just to keep roof over your head.

Some good advice here. For me, the best money I (now in my 60s) have ever spent is on travel for my family and myself. And I don't mean checklist / selfie-taking travel, but to really try to learn new cultures, meet new people, and learn about our earth. It was great to do it together, and I look forward to doing it with my grandchildren.

Kind of devalues the currency of human relationships doesn't it? It's almost as if money destroys rather than creates........ All these delusional sheltered privileged people talking about how life is getting better, yet they all agree social change is critical and they have no clue how to fix it. Money is forced evolution, you obey and thrive, or your interests lie elsewhere and you die. It clearly doesn't motivate people to take care of their own, quite the opposite, it's used as a tool of defining human value, all I see is the prevailing belief that anyone and everyone who cannot stay out of poverty never deserved whatever love and respect our even attention from trusted and high society relationships they had in their past. Hell is other people, and anyone that dares to have a family is vulnerable to everyone they "trust", that's why birthrates worldwide are dropping like a stone. Put these snakehead tyrants in the shanties and tents where they belong, they will never be forgiven ever again. All money does is determine loss of life, and remove human accountability for the inaction that causes it. Rich people talk about relationships but they forget about all the disposable women and children in their lives, and all the lies they told them about living a normal life. Any society that's not worth living in must be destroyed. Know your enemy. Know that they are indebted to their people and make them pay, with exponential interest. Even the middle class are WEAK, pampered, toxic, childish, irresponsible idiots, especially during COVID-19. Meanwhile the working class has been redefining sacrifice for decades... Who do you think will have power over the new world? The strong ones who have fought to endure the absolute extremes of human hardship, or the spoiled rotting garbage people surrounded by luxury spending their whole lives being pleased with themselves and their fantastical delusions about the nature of the world and all the families who may or may not survive the 'opportunities' surrounding them.

It's the rich man's fault, then the government, then people of a certain colour, then it's people of the other gender, then, it's the big corporations, and if all these don't get fixed by the government, they won't be successful. And if course government fixes nothing. That's where that accountability comes in.

This is such valuable content. When he says “relationships are the currency of life” it hit me pretty hard. Everyone knows relationships are an important part of life and many of us take pride in “keeping our circle small” but over the last couple years I’ve found myself becoming a little bit of a hermit. I go to work, hardly go out to socialize so I can save money and to be honest a lot of the time I just don’t want to go hang out. There’s only a select few that I really feel comfortable around and enjoy spending my time with and if it doesn’t involve them then I just avoid it. This video made me realize I need to get out of the habit of turning down invites to events or when my old buddy from high school invites me on a trip somewhere. I’ve been doing that for so long that when I stop and take a look at my life I realize I hardly have any genuine relationships, a huge difference from when I was younger when I had tons of friends and was always going out. That’s not to take away from the great relationships I DO have but maybe our lives could reach so much more potential when we do allow new people in our life. You never know who you may befriend or what opportunities may come with relationships.

I've made and spent millions and almost lost my life (I'm early-middle-aged). Family, friends and helping people are about the most important thing I can imagine doing with my life. Helping make others more able will lift their morale and give them the confidence to stand tall so THEY TOO can help others. So I'm more focused on what my life can DO for others than I am "what can people do for me". I've encountered many younger people who are all about "take, give me everything NOW!" Very entitled and impatient. It's the opposite of what makes you happy in the end. It's just like having kids, it's the fact that you can love them and help them that makes you feel so good, then they repay you with their love. The kids don't need to give you money or THINGS to make you happy!

@UCLEPKEieXF509Y13IPWbz7g You are close but go deeper. It is about survival. When a dog is curled up (alone) under a blanket, it is at peace. It feels safe and secure. Being part of a group, whether popular, or around someone who is popular instills a similar peace. A sense of security. This is more important than the sharing of a funny joke. It is absorbing the energy of the group. People enjoy 2 hours at a rock concert but will rarely sit for 2 hours to hear a better, cleaner version on an MP3. I have many videos, but there is something more fun about watching it if "it's on" the TV. There is an energy about it- I am part of something that is happening. Otherwise, I fully agree with you. We are hunter-gatherers and deep relationships are very important. I only point out why I believe this is so.

Ask me now IS it worth 25 year of your life to get rich - F-UK NO You see when you have spent 25 years of your life working at something - you simply CANT turn around and say "this is sh!t - I've wasted my life" Im incredibly grateful for the mugging - it freed me and taught me what was truly valuable in life.

The main facts about money are that once you start making enough of it to afford all that you want, it comes down to how you use your money and ultimately how you FEEL in your everyday life. The thing that keeps people going beyond survival is their emotional state, and if you nurture your mind and how you feel about the world, the money can be used as a bonus to enjoy more and more opportunities.

My whole life I felt like we kids were just a bother and I'm sure the family stuff we did do was my Mom's idea. He never even knew what school we went to or any teachers name.
