    Thank you so much for this video. It gave so much information that I am more curious to build my career in io psychology. I am doing Bsc. Yoga right now because it was my hobby that I wanted to make my career in. In that course I came across psychology subject. And I developed so much interest in that more than i had in school time. Apart from yoga I've always wanted to do something in psychology and io psychology stands out best for me. Could you please let me know if I could take admission in masters straight or should I apply for bachelor's. Since I am 20 years old I think this is the best time to choose what I want to do. I am from India and I am looking for courses and colleges where I can learn theoretically and practically both.

    Thank you for putting up this video. I do disagree that you can call yourself an IO Psychologist without a PhD. Psychologist is a terminal position so it would require a PhD completion. I have both a clinical and IO background and love both. I am looking to go back to complete the PhD portion. You don't need a PhD you just need tenacity and good experience to apply to real-world positions to be successful. Good luck all!

    Thank you both for this video. I've always been interested in psychology. I'm currently in a different career field and have decided to switch into psychology and IO is the branch that has been standing out to me. I have an associate's degree in a healthcare field. Would you recommend starting in psychology with a bachelor's degree or would I be able to go straight into a master's program?

    I am currently working in clinical psychology and have a master's in clinical, before I went there I was torn between IO psychology and clinical and once I went to clinical I realised I want to actually work as a consultant and coach as probably IO instead. Do you think it is necessary to do IO master's if I already have master's which involved a lot of statistics?

    I'm in an opposite situation. I went for Masters in IO, but then realized that I want to be a psychotherapist or a counselor and eventually a psychoanalyst. Do you think it's possible for me to do personal counseling and psychotherapy with Masters in IO, considering I've been studying psychotherapy for more than 10 years by myself (I have a supervisor and 3 years in my own psychotherapy)?

    Hello, I am interested in I/O, what is the difference between social psychology and I/O. Can I still get the same opportunities with a Ph.D in social psych as too a Ph.D in I/O?

  • @MattinglySolutions

    @MattinglySolutions

    It's not the degree as much as it is what you DO with it. If you get I/O applied experiences (e.g., internship) and study/research I/O-related concepts, you can end up doing some amazing I/O work. Just make sure the social program has a strong stats and psychometric component--that's really where I/Os shine

    Well...it depends-IOs love this phrase, btw. 😂 “Study” in what sense? Self-study (books)? Take an online course? Formal education? Also, what are you trying to learn from IO? How IO can serve you as a manager (and what problems would you like IO to help you solve)? Or how to be an IO psychologist?

    @@oct_chiblessed7310 I absolutely recommend some sort of formal training in I/O psychology before practicing I/O. There currently is no licensing process for I/O psychologists...which is why getting trained properly is so important for doing this work RIGHT. Schools offer undergraduate, Masters, PhD, and even online degrees in the field.

I ask because i do want a PhD in a I/O Psychology, not a master's. I rather have a master's in a different concentration within business 🧐

    I dunno if Kvon & Victoria will read this but anyone who has experience can respond. What if the organization is run by narcissists? Like the kind of business-owners that when employees speak up, they become passive-aggressive towards the employees; and a lot of gaslighting in the workplace. How can IO psychologists remedy that? Or should they?

  • @Innovate2011

    Hi Bella, In response to your question, It's my opinion that organizational culture / climate transformation heavily depends upon the type of leadership that's influencing workplace conditions. I/O psychologists would be able to help with this. However, it would require a total mindset shift on behalf of the organization's business owners in order to affect positive change. The reality is that true narcissistic type personalities are very resistant to change and lack self-awareness surrounding the negative impacts of their behavior. All this to say, I believe change is possible with the right approach, at the right time, and under the right circumstances.
