That dummy looks like one I had as a kid (a few decades ago). Same mold, slightly different colors and clothes. Mine had a yellow shirt with "Simon Says" on it. There might have been creative spelling used for the Says ...like "Sez." I can't remember. I got it back when the Sears Christmas Catalog was a big deal to kids.

Wolf Knight I just saw it as a generic character. At the time, there were multiple ventriloquist dolls, and that was simply the version of that one at the time. There weren't different versions of him at one time. I also doubt his design had anything to do with Howdy Doody since he was a puppet, and to the best of my knowledge, he wasn't a ventriloquist act. Charlie McCarthy would be a better comparison.

What made the ventriloquism irritating was the high-pitched voice she used for the manneqin. It made it difficult for a watcher to "believe" that the manneqin was speaking. She should have gone for a lower-pitched voice to make tha character more bearable.
