Asics Trabuco Max 2 | FULL REVIEW | Well This Was a Surprise
Спорт
Thomas and Robbe review the Asics Trabuco Max 2, a max cushion trail shoe (for real, it's 43 mm of Flytefoam Blast+) that can handle pretty much any distance. And the outsole grip is solid as well. Needless to say, we were pretty surprised at the results, as was the rest of our trail team. Available now for $150.

Took my pair to the test on its first run. 55km of technical surfaces and it performed really well. Very bouncy and comfy. Great grip.

Curious to see how the max 2 stacks up against the regular trabuco 11
was sitting thinking man i wish BITR would review the trabuco max 2, open up PC and well damn, there it is
Tried this on in store and it was my second fav shoe behind the mach 5. I'm on my second pair of trabuco max 1's. Such a great deal for around 100. Great traction, versatile, and last a long time. They feel great even on pavement once I got used to them. I used them a ton for grass volleyball where the traction is great. I even used them for indoor volleyball once, and they did great for that.

I bought a pair a couple of days ago and will run trails this weekend to test them out. I have 3 pairs of ASICS…two Nova Blast (3 & 4) for speed and the Kayano 30 for recovery. I bought the trail shoe due to their good stability. I have a pair Hoka Mafate Speed 4 for the trails but they are narrow shoes…good grip though. Great video and thanks for sharing your views.
I'm looking for a new cushioned trail shoe for this Summer. These look decent but I'll wait until they come in a color other than black. No, Hoka don't really work for me except the Stinson, and no telling when the 7 is coming out, and if it gets even heavier.
I’m super picky for trail shoes and this was one that I really liked, my only hope for the next version is to continue to do a better job on the upper/lockdown. Like Robby said, I have to retie them something and rarely just tie them and go. They take effort there…
I bought the Asics Gel Nimbus 25 a few days ago. Absolutely loving it. So comfortable and it looks great. Very cool design imho. Thank you BITR for introducing me to it 👍👍👍

I bought a pair of these as my first pair of running shoes getting back into it after my accident. Have worn ASICS nimbus years ago as my shoe of choice so I was stoked to try these with the new thick soul. They are super comfy and I feel like I’m running on clouds. I want to do trail running and do some events this year. I don’t have much options where I live and at the local sport shop but they do stock these ASICS. Might give it a go.

I have a question. I really like this sneaker design, but the question is, would it be a good choice for hiking in the mountains for distances of 15 to 30 kilometers? If not, what would be the best choice in terms of comfort?
Nice review, pls help..la sportiva akasha 2 or trabuco max 2
Keepin my eye on this one❤
this may be the next great trail shoe..
What are your thoughts between this shoe and speedgoat? Are they any more bouncier and gripper?
The brain dead max 1 that came out last year took a little to break in but the FF is getting softer. It looks really nice!! So I really want wear this one bad!! I hope it has more cushioning in the heal!! The first max was kinda weird!! Hardly any in the heal and most if it was in the forefoot which was weird......great video!!!
I gave them a test at Sufferfest. Just one loop. Very comfortable. Definitely a mile gobbler. I would have gone down a half size when I buy a pair.
How’s the space in the toe box? I am planning to do my first 50k soon and this looks promising, but I have 2E/3E feet.
Absolutely love my Gore-Tex versions.

Hello, what about the socks you’re using in the video? Actually you never say a word about the socks .. it’s essential. The height /length of those seem perfect. Could you please tell me the brand ? Thanks
Hi, can i use TM2 as my daily trainer for road? I rarely go to trail and why i think i am gonna buy tm2 is because of the very deep midsole + outsole durability (my assumption is true or not?) .. or do u recommend Novablast 3 instead of this for road only? my main goal are very good cushion + outsole durability.. Really appreciate your opinion! 🤗

Very different shoes. This is a serious trail shoe. Novablast 3 TR is a road shoe with slightly upgraded outsole with shallow lugs for very basic buffed up trails.
Would it work as road to trail, or as a multi-function daily trainer?

It could work. The cushion is there.
Is it suitable if i have overpronation?
I've had these for a couple weeks. I have 3 runs in them. They are fantastic on smooth trails, bouncy, and fun. I tried them on some technical rocky downhills and that's where this shoe is a miss for me. The 40+ mm stack and softness lead to some sketchy lateral stability. For me this is green if you aren't going super rocky or technical. For me it's a send back to RR sports, just too unstable on rocky downhill terrain.

Did you try the non-MAX Gel-Trabuco? These are the regular non-CRAZY trail shoes. I was positively surprised by v9, didn't like the v10 (too hot upper, too firm forefoot). Yet now, new v11 with FFblast foam looks just right! Sure, only testing will tell if the soft foam works, how long does it last. But, with the same grip + less stack it should be way better than MAX.

@q20a08
Жыл бұрын
Picked up a pair of 4E Venture 8 a while back, quite cheap. I would say the midfoot platform could be wider for my taste, but the forefoot is decent enough. Of course, this all gets back to your particular foot. From some comments of yours I have seen, you might find it a mere 2E-ish pretender. As you might expect, it's not the most expensive-seeming upper. But the outsole resembles fairly sturdy snow-tire tread. I've only given it mild casual use thus far. Seems decent walking some snowy asphalt. Wouldn't over-pay for it.

Depends on how technical the terrain is. In Quebec Canada you wear the Ultra Glide and make a call to a pallbearer because you might not make it down alive with those lugs/grip.
how does this feel on feet compared to the gel nimbus 25?
@andymuncie
Жыл бұрын
I've just run a trails ultra in them out of the box this morning. You can definitely feel the bounce/cushioning especially when your foot is flat to the ground. I find the 25's not great on damp/wet ground but then I use them on the road. The fit is definitely better in the toe box as it has more room. The grip was great but our run was on sandy dusty and woody trails and it was bone dry. I would definitely use these over the 25's for any type of trail running though.
I assume no rock plate. I felt rocks in the 1st Fuji lites which is a shame.

I'm really interested in seeing a review for the gel trabuco 11. Less cush than the max but with a rock plate, appears to be a little more agile than this monster.
Curious how people with a wider forefoot find the fit. Sounds tempting for me to try, but wary about the lack of any wider widths. Incidentally, I enjoy the humility of Robbe the glitch-prone robot. It doesn't advantage me in any way for reviewers to assume that all feet closely mimic their own unique specimens.

I have wide foot (and flat) and... unfortunately the only one option is to try. Last time I bought Brooks Caldera 6 - and it's too narrow, blister after 3 runs, max 12 km. Today received Trabuco Max 2, they looks much better, better even than Speedgoat 5 wide so maybe it will be fine

@@lukasamd Thank you ! Obviously, the only SURE method is to try it on. But sometimes people can save you plenty of bother in advance, by noting that a particular shoe (like Speedgoat) tends toward narrow forefoot. So far, I'm hearing "T. Max 2" may be worth trying-on, for those of us stuck with a wide forefoot. Thanks again.

It's not MAX 2, it is TOO MAX (~ed out). Can't you clean them? for God Sake!
Come on guys. I did 20 miles in these yesterday on a moderately technical trail, and I can say without a doubt, this shoe is hot garbage- easily and by far the worst shoe I have ever laced up for the trail. The mid foot lockdown is not achievable even when strangling your foot. This causes the shoe to be flat out dangerous on technical descents. Lateral stability is non existent. Like actually non existent. In the zegama and caldera your foot at least sits deep in the foam. Not so much here. You're on top of the foam. So you have zero built in stability and just have to hope you're strong enough to not get injured while you slide around on top of a slab of foam. The rocker is slightly out of place, putting you too far on the toes for technical descents. Which exasperates the sloppy mid foot issue. The foam is mediocre. It's okay, but not great. You all act like this flyte foam blast is some great creation, when you know it's just an over hyped Eva similar to what Hoka was using in 2021. You could actually go to Walmart or Payless and get a shoe that would perform just as good or better than this on the trail. The Trabuco is a decade behind Nike, Saucony, or Brooks.
