"Let's have fun and create a shoe that just goes stupid fast and who cares about rules" That is why I love the Prime X. I use them strictly for long runs (109 miles in 5 runs so far, including 2 casual marathons) and my legs feel great afterwards. I had used Atreyu the Artist for that previously, but these fit me better and are so much more fun. I'm a forefoot striker and don't have any stability issues with it or any shoe for matter. I will say that if I hadn't found them for $112, I probably would have never tried them out.

I love this shoe. I had been using my old Metasky as a training shoe because of the midsole. But the sole wore down quickly. This is the shoe I had been waiting for.

I tried to resist but just finally could not say no to the bright new colourway... how amazing are these shoes ??? I am one of the very few who stopped liking the novablast after the 1st version and kept hearing novablast on steroids when describing the superblast - they are just amazing, been struggling with running lately but these have really made coming back a lot easier and fun, can't have enough of them, so expensive though

Would be interested to see a video on the pros/cons of running in max stack shoes. The Superblast is my favorite shoe at the moment and I find myself wanting to lace them up for every run. They feel pretty stable to me and I don't feel that I really notice the stack height, but I wonder if it's a bad idea to run in max stack shoes too often.

I only have 14 miles in mine, and I think I really like them but developed some decent pain in medial upper shin / knee area, but I can’t tell if i just need to break in some more with them or they simply have too much stack for me before the return window closes and I’m stuck with another shoe I’m afraid to use. Anyone else have any pain / injury issues from these and did it go away after pushing on with them?

@Doctors of Running I understand that CP’s must play a role in cost (particularly R&D) but are they really so expensive that they should still automatically be so pricey? The R&D for a dual-density midsole such as on the SuperBlast also costs though I’m not saying these aren’t overpriced at retail price (see my separate comment about price). We also know by now that the biggest role of a CP is stabilizing the foam. In the case of this shoe, they’ve used other factors to stabilize the high stack without a plate, and that might be more agreeable to some runners because while it’s still quite stiff, it didn’t feel so when I tested it at the CIM Expo; certainly less so than my Edge+.

I love this shoe! So bouncy and fun! Would you recommend them for easy long runs, or should I save them for workouts? I have Novablast 3’s and love them as well, but not sure whether to use them or Superblast for easy long runs.

Re: price, support your local independent brick-and-mortar running stores. Many of them will give you a 15-20% “club” discount which becomes more substantial the more expensive the shoe. And if they stock the brand, they will special order a model for you to try. Yes, it’s probably overpriced at full retail. I tried it on at the CIM Expo, though, and have to say it impressed me instantly with a “wow” factor. I won’t buy it yet bc I’m just starting to use my 1st NovaBlast ever (v3). I’ll see how they work for me first.

Hey Matt! Really enjoying your reviews! Very curious on how the superblast outsole is wearing out for you now with the amount of mileage you've put in it. Looking for a very durable shoe and like you, the outsoles of my shoes that I wear tend to wear out quicker then the rest of the shoe. Thanks for everything!

Would you recommend this for a flat footed overpronator with a mid foot strike? I’m currently looking for a light shoe that I could use for my first Marathon in September. I’m currently running on Kayano 29 and it’s just hot and heavy.

@@wonkydonkey7899 exactly. Being in the roster to get multiple free pairs of shoes every season which are resold on eBay later, free anoraks and invites/hotel stay/travel to events, is a very powerful social and financial incentive, in addition to oiling the content creation machinery. ‘All KZreadrs that are part of the influencer club’ tread a fine line and will sugar cost the negatives. Folks that are having a small audience don’t face this perverse incentive. That’s influencer marketing 101. It’s a necessary evil and as viewers, we need to read between the lines and check user comments.

@@paddywiggle that's why I don't see how you can say that a shoe is a "swiss army knife". Maybe it is, but only for runners of a certain level. I think rather than speaking of "tempo, threshold, fast stuff" that are relative terms, we should really start clearly pointing out at what paces the shoe performs best.

@@giovanbattistafichera8439 That isn't a super useful metric either. The Alphafly feels very good to me at a 7:30 pace. But, for any sub 3 hour marathoner they would likely find the alphafly felt extremely clunky and disjointed at that pace. Effort is about the best metric out there. But, at the end of the day, shoes are pretty subjective. Which is why I watch the youtubers that have a few different reviewers - like these guys and Believe in the Run. Different opinions from different strides and I also have learned which reviewers tend to match up with my preferences.
