ASICS Superblast 2 Review | Big Updates and Still One of the Best

Today, Brandon gets his hands on one of the year’s most coveted releases - the ASICS Superblast 2. Heralded by some - and Brandon himself - as the “shoe of the year” in 2023, the Superblast gets a few notable updates in its second iteration, most notably some changes to the midsole foams and outsole.
This time, Brandon was the only one of the Fleet Feet review team to get access to this early pair, so you’ll be hearing mostly his opinions.

I had the chance to take a look in some of my local shop and it feels amazing on hand. Did not try on foot but it´s tempting, even more knowing all the technology that packs and how versatile it can be. Thanks for sharing.

Some got 3 pairs and some were unable to get a single pair . Hope this one will be more available to public.

@superblast_fans, do you ever get tired of the lack of ground feel? I have a novablast 4 and as good as it is, sometimes I just get so tired of being so high off the ground and end up using a lower shoe for a while

how's the sizing on this compared to nimbus 26? i'm a size 9 wide on nimbus 26!
My true size 26 cm, my runing shoes is 26,5 cm with very thin upper, i have try kayano 30 with 26,5 cm but need more space, how about theese superblast 2 what size i should buy? Coz i have buy it on online no local store here
Does the firmness offer a degree of stability? I pronate but fully stable shoes are too much

I'm a neutral runner and I do find stability on long runs with this shoe. Recommended.
Sad to see they made it softer. The OG Superblast was the perfect cushion and why you could take it practically whatever speed you wanted.

Those reviewers with bigger sizes have actually noticed a slight weight increase.

Sizes can vary the weight slightly so it’s important to try the shoe on for yourself and see how it feels. But overall this is a very light shoe no matter the size! - Brandon

Difference between superblast 2 and NB Fresh foam Balos ?

SB2 is more responsive while the NB Balos is softer and more cushioned. - Brandon

why would I pay premium for a daily trainer? SB1 can be used for racing while SB2 is more targeted at training miles... NB Revel v4 is a better deal IMO

The Superblast 2 is a great race day alternative, especially at those longer distances. It’s still one a shoe with a ton of magic and pop to it. I will be getting most of my miles in this shoe! - Brandon

If you are saying Superblast 1 can be used for racing then do can version 2. There are minimal differences.

@@fleetfeet699 you can race on any shoe - sb1 was the closest thing to racing shoe without plate. New version is softer less return by all reviews so it is not exactly the same imo. Time will tell.
