🇬🇧 In 2024, the legendary British group Asian Dub Foundation celebrates 30 years of career and activism, marked by memorable concerts all over the world, 9 studio albums and a host of iconic collaborations. As well as an anniversary tour across Europe, Asian Dub Foundation are preparing the release of a compilation celebrating 30 years of collaborations, with previously unreleased tracks, remixes and versions rearranged for the occasion. And who better to unveil the first extract from this project than the one and only Iggy Pop? The Stooges singer reinterprets their classic 'No Fun' on an arrangement by Asian Dub Foundation. Recorded in Miami in 2007 and originally released on the 'Punkara' album the following year, this is an ADF30 anniversary version re-arranged, remixed and remastered by Bernie Gardner at Warm Puppy Studios.

En plus d’une tournée anniversaire aux quatre coins de l’Europe, Asian Dub Foundation prépare la sortie d’une compilation mettant à l’honneur 30 ans de collaborations avec des inédits, des remixes ainsi que des versions ré-arrangées pour l’occasion. Et qui de mieux pour le premier extrait de ce projet que le seul, l’unique, l’immense, Iggy Pop ? Le chanteur des Stooges réinterprète ici leur classique « No Fun » sur un arrangement signé Asian Dub Foundation. Enregistré à Miami en 2007 et paru à l’origine dans l’album « Punkara » l’année suivante, il s’agit ici d’une version anniversaire ADF30 ré-arrangée, remixée et remasterisée par Bernie Gardner aux studio Warm Puppy.

Legendary English group Asian Dub Foundation celebrates its 30th anniversary this year!
Asian Dub Foundation's music is a genre in itself. Their unique fusion of jungle rhythms, dub basslines, wild guitars drawing from their South Asian roots, and militant rap. The story began in the early 90s when ADF formed out of a music workshop in East London at the institution that has always remained their spiritual home, Community Music. These beginnings not only shaped their sound but also their broader educational aspirations, exemplified by the establishment of their own educational organization, ADF Education, and their campaigns advocating for victims of miscarriages of justice.
Building a solid stage reputation in the mid-90s, they eventually gained worldwide recognition sharing the stage with Rage Against The Machine, the Beastie Boys, and Primal Scream. On record, they collaborate with Radiohead, Sinead O'Connor, Iggy Pop, Adrian Sherwood, and Chuck D. Furthermore, ADF is among the pioneering groups to seriously delve into cine-concerts, starting with their interpretation of the soundtrack of the French classic film "La Haine" in 2001.
Asian Dub Foundation represents 30 years of career and activism marked by memorable concerts across the world, 9 studio albums each more legendary than the last, along with iconic collaborations. In 2024, Asian Dub Foundation will continue to write its history. An special tour in France and Europe will also honor the solidity and longevity of the British group live.

I have the CD single of that and every mix is great.
Bin a life long punk but have loved ADF for years. They have always had that punk edge. Great track. Great band. Happy days.

True. They often don't sound like what most people would call punk but they've got more of that punk attitude than most punk bands.

Some punk bands..defintutely. Exploited etc. ADF are lyrically and musically better. More Punk than them. Subhumans, Conflict etc are the bees.

@@KevKavanagh It's called writers' credits. It's a Stooges' song not an Iggy Pop song. It was only Iggy Pop and The Stooges when they thought it would be easier to market the band with Iggy in it. Wiithout the Stooges No Fun would not exist. It's like giving Lennon all the credit for a Beatles' song.
