Asia’s top wingsuit athlete soars through China’s Zhangjiajie scenic area

Zhang Shupeng, one of Asia’s top wingsuit athletes, bulleted down to the scenic Zhangjiajie national park in China’s central province of Hunan at 230 kilometres an hour with his batman-style suit. The 34-year-old was a member of China’s national paragliding team and a world champion in the adventure sport. He decided to turn to wingsuit flying in 2012, and by 2017 had become one of the world’s best.

I am just curious about his first ever dive and fly attempt. It must be the most horrific experience whilst standing at the cliff waiting to bend your knees and wooff gravity took over.

gopro 360 or any 360 action cam , the recording will not show the camera pole

You can see he has a stick thing pointing away from his head, camera probably mounted on that, maybe they edit out the stick, not sure.
I can't imagine what would happen if the suit malfunctioned.

At this same spot -- Mt. Heavenly Gate of China's Hunan Province, a young woman wingsuit enthusiast was killed early this year and an European male athlete also got killed a few years back. That's why Mr. Zhang said he is a lucky man.
