    I can't say I like Lake's version of this song better than Wetton's... but Greg will always be one of my favorite vocalists. He was amazing with his own songs. Asia was very lucky to get such a high caliber stand-in for this concert tour.

    What was great about having Greg Lake join Asia was that John Wetton and him had a similar vocal timbre so the formula worked perfectly.

    They both had great voices, but I'm not so sure how similar they were. Greg was silky smooth whereas John had some rough edges. But they both worked beautifully. I can picture the two of them having a beer in rock & roll heaven.

    Great performance! My 4 year daughter loves this song, (dragon on album cover) she calls it the dragon song. :) Music will always live on.

    Peter Banks, first guitar player on Yes before Howe (RIP 2009), then Chris Squire (RIP 2015), both Keith Emerson and Greg Lake (The Maestros RIP 2016), John Wetton (RIP 2017). We are losing our heroes too fast. :'(

    Sucks, and the one guy I thought would have been first ( Ozzy) is still alive and kicking...:)...Gallows humor...I have to laugh or I'd burst into tears...Squire, Wetton, Lake, Keith Emerson, George Harrison, to name a few...We're lucky to have shared our lives with them...They filled, and continue to fill, our lives with the sounds and words we lean on in times of strife...When you think about it; it's profound to ponder it as we are eased into our own autumn years...Thanks Artist, wherever you are!

    Amazing performance, and more amazing back story of how Greg Lake got up to speed on Asia's numbers in just a couple of weeks to meet the tour's schedule. How he could stand playing that amputee looking stumpy bass is still beyond me. But he did have to stand up holding it, night after night. He's one of my real rock and roll heroes.

    I always thought it was amusing that Wetton replaced Lake in King Crimson & Lake replaced Wetton in Asia. They are so similar in many ways. Both great.

    Japanese fans are the fkn' BEST! I would love to play in Japan one day. These people REALLY love the music they listen to. They live in the moment when they're at a concert. Unlike most Americans who have to record everything on their cell phones to try and impress their friends on social media🙄

    complicated times back then, egos flying and Greg Lake takes over for JW and then they bust up until Astra, a tough period early to mid 80s with the changes in music were rampant, nevertheless both Greg and John are musical legends, may they both rest in peace....

    Ambos fueron tremendos bajistas-vocalistas. Y da la "casualidad" que tanto Lake como Wetton tuvieron algo en común: que ambos en diversas épocas fueron parte de King Crimson en voz y bajo ("Curiosamente" Wetton reemplazó a Lake en dicho rol dentro de King Crimson y posteriormente Lake hizo lo propio en Asia. Eso explica el hecho de que Greg Lake pudo perfectamente "ponerse en los zapatos" de John Wetton acá).

    ELP was a classic group. greg lake is a legend and veteran of progressive rock. I don't think they could have gotten better then. name someone who could have covered it better.

    This is Greg Lake the legend guys and gals....not just some guy.....This band plays way better without Wetton,much more freely and with lots of bravado...they seem stilted with Wetton...Now I love Wetton's voice in King Crimson and UK..Danger Money album...He is genius on the bass as well...His voice is more powerful than Lake, but Lake is more variable and he adds his own signature to this....To purists..this may be bunk....but I love that prog rock so much, I like this musical virtuoso....

    Wetton's voice is not more powerful. His range is higher, so they had to adjust the keys for Greg.

    Greg had more range than Wetton. Cue Epitaph, Schizoid Man, KE9. Even here when Greg’s voice has deepened, his notes are on point.

    @@ADITYASINGH-vc4gm Greg definitely had more range than Wetton and better singing technique too. Too bad he smoked so much it destroyed his voice in his later years. He was a great guitar player as well, he learned the bass to play with King Crimson. He'd played bass less than a year when they recorded Schizoid Man. A legend indeed!

    He joined Asia with only 2 weeks' notice to learn the songs, and was using a teleprompter for the lyrics. It was just a temporary thing because Wetton was ill (possibly his recurring alcoholism at the time).

    I remember watching this on late night TV back in 1984 when I was in high school. Oh well, at least the camera angles kept us from seeing the TelePrompTer Greg Lake was using to read the lyrics.

    I heard Greg Lake sing during the Works tour in Detroit in 1977 and his voice was incredible. I heard Wetton in Detroit in '82 on the first tour and his voice wasn't great and he could NOT hit all the notes on some of the songs from the album they had just recorded. I've heard him sing live on other videos and Wetton's voice was much better. In any case, two great and similar baritones.

    Greg Lake did an awesome job in this concert. Wetton was off drinking himself into oblivion. I had to get used to Lake but the more I watch it, the more I like it.
