This was a one-off tribute with people John loved and respected. Yes, John Wetton chose Billy to fill in for him on the first leg of the tour, with the hopes he'd soon rejoin on the second leg. When John's life ended, it was only fitting that Billy should sing, not as a comparable vocalist, but because he was a good friend, he was an amazing collaborator, he could play the bass like nobody's business, and we needed him in this very difficult time. This show wasn't supposed to be about anything but bringing people together in love. Please give the negative commentary a break.

I flew 1,300 miles w/my wife from South Florida to be here in Englewood, NJ 6/17/2017 for this incredible tribute evenr in memory of John Wetton. Humbled to be in the audience for such a WONDERFUL nigbt of music and fan cameraderie! John Wetton connected with his fans in a very deep, personal way. I felt that I HAD to be there... his passing hurt me in a very powerful way. Many fans I spoke to after the show felt similarly. Lisa Wetton (John's beloved, newly married before he passed) and the band members came out to greet fans at select points in the night too... it was like a "family gathering", truly - just a beautiful spirit of goodwill and love connected everybody in the spacious NYC-area venue that night. The music of John Wetton lives on. It was clear to me that night - to ALL of us, who jumped to our feet after every song with rapturous, vocal approval. Thank you to the members and management of /ASIA\ for staging this EXTRAORDINARY communion of music and dialogue between band, fans, and even the family of John Wetton. MANY fond memories amplified inside my heart in one night. It was the HEAT OF THE MOMENT... and I will never forget your music, John. TILL WE MEET AGAIN... - Douglas Armstrong /AgentA\

Billy the kid behind the mike, sorry, that's a terrible mistake, or an easy way to keep on a steady flow of piastres into the Asia piggy bank. Some thinking out of the Yes-Asia-Fraternity and Mutual Admiration Society box here would be very welcome indeed. The Lisa-angle is an interesting one for a while, but of course that too won't save the band. Asia needs a young bloke with a very decent set of pipes, and enough creativity to come up with typical Asia songs. Or I don't know, maybe there are still "Wetton archives 1 & 2" to be made ? But the Sherwood angle is Asia's version of the Status Quo single Down down, deeper and down.... A band suffering from anaemia ! Oh look, we have a title for the new CD with Billy, it even starts with an "A" !

Don't be a dick. This was an evening dedicated to celebrating John's life and memory. I was there. It started out with invited guests and the band members paying tribute to John and recalling some of their fondest memories while pictures of John were shown on a big screen. Also, some videos were played, bits of interviews. It was a sad but wonderful evening at the same time. Then the band did a full concert. Billy had an extremely tough roll to fill especially that sad evening. John asked Billy to please fill in for him while he was getting treatment. It was only natural that Billy was here that night. Billy knows he's not John and we didn't expect him to be. But we were happy to hear John's music that he created & loved. Billy deserved a tremendous amount of credit that night. Maybe now that you have read this, you will be quiet out of respect for John.

I know that but Asia wqs know to be a masterful group with stellar musicinship and wetton was a perfectionist, you can have a tribute but then u do it like they hailed trevor horn in the best possible way with best possible replacement...wondrful I agree but asia and wetton deserve more...unfortunately, God bless JW soul he thought he was irreplacable that is why he did not like John Payne and I agree...so better to have seen max bacon or trevor rabin or someone who has a mighty voice....now we see sherwood is only on bass, if Asia is to continue it has to either reform alltogether as howe is gone anyway, carl is nothing like he used to be,,,,this group changed my life and is the best fucking band that ever came out but legacy needs to be kept in the highest level of performance for those that set standars and not go down to the lowest and easiest line...but then I might be dick as you eloquently state...better dick than this low quality,,,

And who the hell are you to be the all & all expert on anything, never mind a music critic on what "should be". Dicks like you are not fans. Your agenda is to tear down a legacy & those musicians who worked very hard during a very difficult time. Dicks like you are stuck in the past. Life goes on whether you like it or not.
