Love this song.. I've lived that song. Meet Jimmy 30 years ago when I was engaged to his friend. For the next 20 years we were best friends while I was in a horrible marriage and he kept waiting for me to leave but never crossed the friendship line. Finally I had enough and when I told him he paid for my divorce and told me that he was in love with me. We had 10 wonderful years together before I lost him to cancer last year. We were soulmates and the loves of each other's lives. Never understood why all his girlfriends through the years hated me. 😂. They saw what I didn't. He was too honorable to ever say anything because I was married. We would both have been happier longer if he had..😢

I wish time and space were different, song is so true of life.

I have someone that fits this song perfectly for me. Lol. It's quite literally OUR story 😂😂. We DID cross the line once but we were 'single' and then he found out he had a baby on the way and went back to her momma so they could raise her together. I know he thinks of me and I think of him. We just never had our timing right lol. Bittersweet, really. This song is beautiful!! Needs to be on the radio!!

Jessica, I'm going to go with the odds and say that this was indeed written (or at least co-written) by Ms. McBryde. I'm feeling good about my odds as as she wrote (or co-wrote) nine out of the 11 songs on "Never Will." This is a great song, isn't it?!
