Yes it is a festival out here RAKSHBANDHAN" which means raksha means safety... Bandan means band or string. It is usually sister ties to her brother but also one sister can tie to other sister... As per me it is usually practice as draupadi tied her cloth to Lord krishan' s hand after his hand got a cut and was bleeding and she was her "prey sakhi" (Dear friend). Afterwards Lord krishan saved draupadi's respect and dignity after unfolding that same cloth that she tied on his hand it was a huge and major instance. Which shows we should respect womens explained by our Lord themselves. ALSO THERE ARE OTHER INSTANCES ALSO DUE TO WHICH IT IS CELEBRATED BY MOST OF THE PEOPLE OUT HERE. SO DON'T GET ME WRONG EITHER. also in in INDIA now they take it as brother sister festival which is also good enough. ☺😊
