Still get goosebumps watching this. The sheer quality,occasion,drama. Every match was like series within itself. The characters like Warne, KP, Freddie, Gilly and then the quality of fast bowling. Irresistible.

@@prasunkantidas9623 2001 Border Gavaskar trophy was the best IMO. That was a full strength Australian squad unlike here with no McGrath and Gillespie for a major part of the series and India without Srinath and Kumble, particularly that test match at Kolkata which was a comeback of ages.

Fantastic test series so many England players emerged into heroes,history in the making,have watched this so many times,brilliant,not forgetting Tony Gregg and Richie benauds commentary great stuff

I jumped out of my seat live when that happened. Was getting so excited, I thought Lee & Warne were going to pull it off.

Richie Benaud said it was the best test series in the history of the game - thats good enough for me. This was also the last test series of terestial TV in the UK before the MCC chashed in with sky sports....

Nit Lover Those were matches which were great because of the conditions. Those matches were played on slow,low wickets which is against the way the Aussies play. But this series and the England-south Africa series in 2004 were played on even terms. That's why I say those as the best ever

2005 Ashes series was best in our era because Australia lost series and at that time it was almost impossible to get victory against Australia.....

Best test series of my lifetime. So close and heroes on both teams. What a victory.

This is CRICKET! Ours is trashy IPL, PSL, BPL and this is why we have very few players with stamina and the character that it takes to be a test player. No offense but we Subcontinent teams like to play in commerical environment rather than a quality one.
