Asher is definitely a seasoned performer. This was worth watching many times over…and I did.

Ate and left zero crumbs! Male Toni Braxton! That yodel took me out and that run on “relax”🤯😳! Can we please just give him the crown because my lord why does he not have 10 albums, 29 Grammys, and sitting in his penthouse! This was a guest artist performance not a competition performance! One of the best voices I’ve ever heard in my life! I screamed out loud and ran in my room because that man took it to church! This look was also everything!

The way that John Legend was getting into it and Reba was smiling says it all!

He's amazing. This is gorgeous - maybe the most luscious and silky he has sounded and then that healthy growl and rich, clean belts - perfect, pretty runs into head voice. Immaculate breath control and dynamics. Again, he's reminiscent of the great Luther and Whitney TOO. I love his voice. The man KNOWS how to sing. By all rights he should win. Like really win. This is not someone who has been in the business for 10 years already. He's a church singer who's got a lot of sugar in his tank. Is America ready? Asher is a vocal superstar. Spicy *and* anointed.

He has never sang anything off key this entire competition. If we’re going by consistency, Asher is certainly leading the pack. How amazing is it that he was able to channel the emotion and vibes of the song despite being somewhat new to secular music. An incredible vocalist.

Me too!! I am a 90s baby (1990) and his voice just reminds me of school dances and bus rides home and sleepovers with friends. We were always listening to 90s r&b. You hit the nail on the head for me. I couldn't figure out why he felt so safe and nostalgic to me until I read this

I can always appreciate this in a vocalist. He is so technically sound but you can tell he sings from the depths of his soul. Would LOVE to catch him live. He is amazing ❤❤❤

The way this is a live performance and he nails this incredibly difficult song. To have a voice this stable and precise in a live situation is really impressive, especially considering how in a lot of the other performances yesterday you could hear the nerves.

I haven’t heard singing like this since the 70’s 80’s and 90’s I didn’t think they made his style voice anymore. Flawless performance and voice. I can see him at Madison Square Garden and Las Vegas selling out seats❤
