Ash and walnut Night Stands

In this video, I'm demonstrating the process of making two night stands. I had some cross-cut walnut pieces that I had properly dried in advance, so I decided to use them for my next project. For the frame, I opted to use ash scraps. Ash is a light-colored wood and should nicely contrast with the dark walnut. I plan to gift these night stands to my sister, Christina, who lives abroad with her husband. Her part of the house in Ukraine is still not well furnished, so I decided to help her set up her bedroom a bit. We cherish moments spent with loved ones, especially now, during these times of war! So, let's appreciate our family and friends while we still have the chance!
The result of my work was appreciated by my children, and I hope the recipients will also like it!

Absolutely love these, and yes the contrasting woods work really well. I was really wondering what was going on when you were making the handles, but love them. However, a major design flaw highlighted at the end... The kiddies can't fit inside them!

Thank you. I considered adding some extra lighting at the top, but then the Russians massively attacked my city with drones, so I decided to finish my project without lighting as soon as possible.

Glad to see you & The Fam are still out there! Ash is a lovely wood, and sadly it's in such abundant supply where I live due to so many stately trees being cut down to control the spread of the invasive emerald ash borer insects. I like to use it myself, and I'm pleased that so many others appreciate it.

Very nice, they look fantastic your sister is very lucky to have such a talented brother who is kind enough to gift these lovely pieces to her. The quality inspectors seemed to find no faults with your work as usual and it was a pleasure to see them in action again.
