I had this station during my osce. First wound assessment then dressing 😊

After inspecting the wound, are you supposed to cover it up as you prepare your equipment or you should leave it exposed

Hi, in ANTT procedure , it is not part of the marking criteria whether you take off your gloves first or last, as long as you perform the procedure well and maintain a sterile field.

Hi I can’t fit medium sterile gloves for ANTT so If I take XL (sterile gloves) do I need to clean an extra trolley to put that gloves or I can put the gloves on the sterile field after arranging , dressing, normal saline and alcohol swab, can you please reply me 🙏

no need to clean another trolley. You can open the sterile gloves beside the sterile field- remember that the sterile gloves is inside a sterile filed too.

Hi, we usually use one clinell wipes to clean the trolley. It doesn’t matter if it’s 2 or more wipes as long as you clean the trolley from furthest to nearest. And it’s not stated in the marking criteria that you need to clean with 2 clinell wipes. Good luck with your osce. 🫶🏻

Hi please replace the gloves, it will definitely contaminate the field once you touch it with broken gloves. It is handy if you bring a spare pair of sterile gloves

Hi, this is part of the marking criteria. And that is how you open the pack. We won’t upload anything that will cause failure to the nurses. Good luck with your Osce. 🙂

Hi, assuming the wound is covered with old dressing, what will you use to remove it? and another question is assuming you are ask to do a paired station like Wound assessment and wound dressing, how do you carry out the procedure?

from my understanding you can loosen the edges of the dressing (do not remove), hand hygiene, open sterile pack/items, use waste bag to remove old dressing, turn bag inside out and attach the to bottom of trolley, you can then verbalise to examiner wound

Check the marking criteria , if you look closely there is no step requiring that except for explaining the procedure. On the resources from your Moodle it says there that you have done all that steps and you may start preparing the equipment but it will not hurt if you practice both. The assessor will give you instructions prior to starting the station so listen carefully. Good luck

Hey Jobel, recently pinapagamit na ng mga examiners yung forcep. Iba na yung arrangement ng wound pack- nasa middle na yung orange bag kaya hindi mo na sya makukuha with bare hands. Pakita nila sayo yung contents before you start

@@claracole8332 hi Clara, she was asking if its okay to use the sterile forceps instead of the orange bag to arrange the items inside the sterile field- yes because now the arrangement of the contents of the pack is different compared before, orange bag is sandwiched between the other items so you will need forceps to touch it.

The extra pair of gloves is not necessary- sorry not mentioned on the video. in case something happened on your sterile gloves like contaminating or ripping it while preparing your sterile field at least you have it ready. You may use that extra sterile gloves instead of the forceps to prepare your field BUT that will eat couple of minutes .The examiner will show you the contents of the wound pack before you start so you can plan whether to use the forceps or the orange bag to arrange the sterile field. Good efforts appraised but only your PPE removal technique after trolley cleaning wasn’t right. Remove gloves, do hand rub then remove gown in a proper way fold it and put it in bin

New or old osce - no existing dressing. The wound is open. Wound assessment will be done separately- 6 mins and you will be assessing a photo
