I found a small caliber pistol (circa 1920) and a gold bracelet under a 3 inch poured concrete slab! WW1 PFC insignia, WW2 Army E award, Victorian jewelry and much more , all in my backyard! Thanks to my Garrett AT Max !

As the collection grows, so does the selection for the best find. Let's say three silver coins in one hole. Austrio-Hungarian Kreuzers approximately between 1670 and 1698. Silver coin Maria Theresa 17 Kreuzer 1763. ... These are very well preserved coins. Unfortunately, the preservation of coins from about the year 1500 and below drops a lot in my conditions. Forest soil is fairly acidic. Well. The Roman tip for a wooden stick, horseshoes and crampons for a shoe belong to Roman times. I should mention that the Roman wall, which is part of the fortifications of the Claustra Alpium Iuliarum, was abandoned around 500... Many unexpected things can happen while searching for metals. I know that my finding a missing person meant a lot to someone. But I prefer these small and rough coins.

Great Video and Information Garrett Metal Detectors! I absolutely love the APEX for Relic hunting and Coin hunting! I have found that even in the most iron infested sites that the APEX will lock onto the good targets with a solid repeatable tone which makes it easy to pick the goodies out of the trash! I also agree.. slowing the swing speed down helps out greatly with the APEX identifying good targets in the trash! 👍👍

Nice video, Steve. Lots of good info presented here. I mostly hunt old homesites looking for coins and non ferrous relics. My best relics are some old medals found using the Apex. I have 3 coils for the Apex. I use the 5x8 coil on my Apex to find desirable targets mixed in the iron. It’s so light weight when equipped with the 5x8 coil you can easily swing it for extended periods. The 6x11 and 8.5x11 coil are great for finding the deeper targets. The Apex would really benefit from an adjustable recovery time, i.e., slow-med-fast to help it unmask in the iron even better. Slower recovery would help with more depth when unmasking at a site is not an issue. Keep the videos coming, guys.

Really a good informative video. I like how Steve emphasizes the iron audio feature of the Apex which is quite unique in multi-frequency detectors. Reducing the iron audio is a great way to quiet the detector down in high trash sites while hunting in all metal. Garrett's approach to the user interface removes the often confusing (and needless) complexity of embedded settings that require way too many adjustments in order to get a detector dialed in. This is a very easy detector to use for either a beginner or an experienced hunter. I truly hope Garrett continues to put out more videos on the Apex. It is a vastly underrated detector and I think it is the best bang for the buck you can find in multi-frequency machines. Bill

Even on these videos there is a perfect example of the Apex giving a whole ramge of VDIs from hi tones to low when in the iron field. Its not a stable machine! Will another update fix this? Also, place a nail 2" next to a coin and see if the coin is picked up. Recovery speed needs improving! Please Garrett.

Will there be a new apex software update? Iron severely brings down good target vdis. And the recovery speed fails a nail board test 100%
