I'm so glad to note that the new generation of Afrobeat music, especially from the Yoruba genre, are not forgetting to upgrade their Fuji, Juju and Akpala vibes, into the modern Afrobeat sound & genre...That is one secret that is making our music original, unique, globally acceptable and genuine...Like they say in our dialect, *_"any river that forgets its source, would eventually dry up."_* These ones are remembering their sources and nourishing them and they are kept fresh and flowing. And I hope our Ghanaian brothers and sisters are seeing and hearing how Olamide stylishly infused their slang into this music...We carry you along, but do you wanna follow or keep beefing us? *Akwaba* means *_Welcome_* in Ashanti Language....In Yoruba, we say *Ekuabo* or *Ekabo.*

I remember when we used to listen to Ra & R&B, trying to sound like our black American brethren, we never got the hook, because we sounded funny and cannot resonate with the BA culture...This is inspite of the fact that some of our rappers were damn good too. But the moment we switched to our own vibes & pushed it out, the world took notice and now, they cannot have enough of what we have to offer.
Just noticed this song today and it blew my mind. Are you sure Nigerians can survive 2022? The number of crazy bangers that are dropping left right and centre is mind numbing. This is a lovely song by all standard. 👏👏👏👏❤️❤️👍🏾👍🏾🇳🇬🇳🇬

Music crosses borders. The mix of English and Yoruba is so melodious. No need to understand the lyrics, there is a direct vibe in there. Congratulations to the Nigerian guys from La France🇫🇷
