Asafa Powell is the most fluid sprinter of all time. If I was teaching youth how to sprint, his technique is the only one I'd ever show.
Asafa Powell's hand movements and leg movements are top class. Its just looks so swift and simple
One of the most humble athletes out there. He is one of the greatest sprinters of all time regardless of him under-performing at the big championship races. Sub10 king; former world record holder and broke it like twice?. 2 time Olympic gold medalist in 4x100 and Bolt looked up to him when he was at the head of mens sprinting. This video sums up Powell's prowess perfectly. Will be a sad day when he hangs up the spikes.

True, I would say asafa powell is probs my favourite sprinter even though bolt is faster because of his power sprinting style of running. Sad to see both bolt and powell retiring :( at least we still have blake and degrasse :P

The most sub-10 clockings in history. That will not be surpassed anytime soon. #subtenking!!
Still my favorite sprinter of all time
He’s running form is literally a piece of art; we should put that in a Museum.
2 years old !!👍🏿💪🏿💪🏿
What a music superb
Asafa Sub 10 king
The Best of starters
2:45 acceleration was CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The most beautiful form ever and a classic front runner. He either won wire to wire or folded after 70 meters because he was being pushed. If he had the heart or grit of Noah or Usain he would’ve been even more ridiculous than he already was. He’s still an all time great though.
60m/70m he decides enough is enough. I dont think he cared much for times. He visibly deliberately gears down after 6secs; sometimes you then see him kick it up again if someone gets in his periphery! I would love to see his performance with a predator after him, jheeeeeeeeze!! Anyone remember that anchor leg he destroyed at the olympics; i think beijing! Fastest split ever if i recall correctly!
This 6.43 at the beginning could have been a 60m world record
Elite technique.
0:38 especially good
Long stride wow super
This is how its done watch n learn....
3:38 the moment when he finish with PB 9.72s and he looks like ... no effort, no strain, no problem

Amazing talent. To think he only has two world championship bronze medals to show for it in terms of individual honours in global meets. Bolt would have always surpassed him, but Powell missed some great opportunities from 2003 to 2003.
Le meilleur pour moi c mon préférez
3:25 How is he able to do this sideways movement with his shoulders/upper body? I think it's the key for him to put more weight and therefore power on his feet!

The reason his force is so perfect is because he actually wasn’t that naturally gifted however the Jamaican national coach saw potential. His perfect technique is evidence of someone who worked exceptionally hard and essentially maxed out their body stats so they could compete with more naturally gifted athletes

This is also why he has broken 10 more than everyone else. When your ability is more based on work than talent you are more consistent

I know this may sound a little out there.. but I genuinely believe he was a sub 9 runner. He shuts down mentally and physically during a race at the same point nearly everytime - whether he is 1st or 8th! Those who remember when he set that record in 07/08 will know for sure. His 200m and 400m are shithot too. His capacity is there. I think it was fear. I believe there are superhumans out there who are either too scared to try; or just do not want to expose it. EVERYTIME!!!! How can you slow down like that and still run consistent .7s and .8s I would love to see 100m with wider lanes, like twice the size. The momentum you could generate!
