One of the most humble athletes out there. He is one of the greatest sprinters of all time regardless of him under-performing at the big championship races. Sub10 king; former world record holder and broke it like twice?. 2 time Olympic gold medalist in 4x100 and Bolt looked up to him when he was at the head of mens sprinting. This video sums up Powell's prowess perfectly. Will be a sad day when he hangs up the spikes.

60m/70m he decides enough is enough. I dont think he cared much for times. He visibly deliberately gears down after 6secs; sometimes you then see him kick it up again if someone gets in his periphery! I would love to see his performance with a predator after him, jheeeeeeeeze!! Anyone remember that anchor leg he destroyed at the olympics; i think beijing! Fastest split ever if i recall correctly!

The reason his force is so perfect is because he actually wasn’t that naturally gifted however the Jamaican national coach saw potential. His perfect technique is evidence of someone who worked exceptionally hard and essentially maxed out their body stats so they could compete with more naturally gifted athletes

This is also why he has broken 10 more than everyone else. When your ability is more based on work than talent you are more consistent

I know this may sound a little out there.. but I genuinely believe he was a sub 9 runner. He shuts down mentally and physically during a race at the same point nearly everytime - whether he is 1st or 8th! Those who remember when he set that record in 07/08 will know for sure. His 200m and 400m are shithot too. His capacity is there. I think it was fear. I believe there are superhumans out there who are either too scared to try; or just do not want to expose it. EVERYTIME!!!! How can you slow down like that and still run consistent .7s and .8s I would love to see 100m with wider lanes, like twice the size. The momentum you could generate!
