Well, historically, the idea is to have a balance of power. Whether liberal or conservative, people have lost what our government is supposed to be. As the left and the right moved further away from the middle, people have started to think that only one side is what we need in our government. People need to study and they will find that what any government needs is balance. If anyone believes otherwise, we are in for trouble. From 1990 and before, no presidential candidate would have made it in the current two party system because none of them are far enough to the right or left. They are all too moderate.

It is a crime on us that we allow homelessness to flourish. Our homeless deserve dignity and respect, a roof over their head, a bed to sleep in, and access to hygienic facilities. Food daily would be nice as well. Don't our citizens deserve a chance to survive? I had to take a break from The Handmaids Tale series after the Jan 6th riot and the Taliban retaking Afghanistan in the same year, because the series was hitting too close to home and feeling a lot less like fiction. Yes, I urge you to gather a small group of friends and meet weekly in your homes from now on. Support one another as you practice talking to people in short, friendly conversations about the importance of voting Democrat. Contact and visit synagogues, mosques, temples and some friendly churches. Talk in shops and at bus stops. You'll feel so close to one another as the soldiers felt who fought for your freedom. If he weren't lying, which he is, it would prove his campaign and intelligence are incompetent. He'll probably continue to say that, but even if it weren't a lie, a competent and decent candidate would look into it. He'll keep on with the lie and suits be called out on it because him still "not knowing" shows things can creep up he won't prepare for. And if he cared, he'd take action, at the very least plan to prevent it, but if competent, he'd talk to congress so they'd implement protections against it. Anything else is obviously complicit. I strongly disagree. That suggests that the American voters have no responsibility for their own education. One of the BIG things wrong with Americans is that they are lazy and therefore vulnerable to the influence of the media. Used to be a joke when someone said they read a "fact" in the National Enquirer. Or Fox. Or Wikipedia. At least half of our voting population has lost it's critical thinking ability and has gotten caught up in the cult of personality. My ex-mother-in-law and father-in-law are conservative religious types. I won't call them Christian. They hated me because I was previously married. Even when my kids were born my mother-in-law mentioned that I had been blessed with healthy children but that didn't mean there wouldn't be a reckoning for my sin. Yet these two support Trump and think he's a moral leader and defender of Christian values. When I've tried in the past to debate them with facts or logic, the spout the most ridiculous things that are right in line with the lies Trump got away with at the debate. Or they personally attack me. This is like most Trump supporters I know. And the irony is that these same MAGA types wave their flags about freedom and they have NO idea how their minds have been taken over and they are just brain-washed illogical cult followers repeating nonsense. There are more educated elements within the Republican party who have crafted the strategy. But the bulk of their voters are ignorant. As, unfortunately, are the Democrat's voters. As just as unfortunatey, the Democrat and Independent voters just don't have the same passion of belief in their party as Republican voters do. So I blame the voters, not the media, for not being responsible.

The thing people need to understand about Trump is that, although he may have grudges and grievances, he has absolutely NO head for policy and is highly partial to people who tell him he's wonderful, and can translate his grudges *into* policy, or at least something that *sounds* like policy. In that respect, he's a sponge and an easy mark for those who wish to shape the system to their particular goals. That includes those on the right who want the country to be the one THEY would like to see, and not at all like anyone else wants or needs. It's why he's so appealing to Christian Nationalists and white supremicists - they feel they can get what they want *through* him; NOT because it's his idea but because he's a sucker for anyone who tells him he's wonderful. And that includes foreign despots.
