That was on the table when Boris flew back to Kiev to tell Zelenski it was off the table. Trump wouldn't have allowed for that Minsk II agreement to fail. If Russia is so great a place to live why did so many people want to leave by the thousands. I don't think it was just to get away from having to go to Ukraine to fight. Not from the interviews I have seen of people who fled.

Serbian president blasts West's double standards in int'l relations. "Worse than anything is that all those who committed aggression against the Republic of Serbia lecture today about territorial integrity of Ukraine, as if we did not support the integrity of Ukraine," Vucic said. "But when we ask them (the West) about the territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia ... the answer is the one that all of you, representatives of smaller countries in the world, heard on countless occasions: do not go back in the past, look toward the future," he said. Principles do not change from one circumstance to another. Principles apply to all, he said. "Or we will end up in the deepest divisions in our history."

Serbia engaged in pure genocide and ethnic cleansing - as soon as they stopped the bloodshed, the intervention in Serbia ended. Today, they enjoy a sovereign nation like any other nation. Serbia, by turning the Balkans into a war-torn region, made themselves into the most hated country in the Balkans - and that says a lot. The West welcomed Serbs, Bosnians, Albanians, Montonegrians - all fellow Balkan people into their nations and gave them equal opportunity to seek a prosperous life. You're welcome.

Let's say we agree that Russia is the aggressor, will they be the first to do it? if they are not the first, then why are other aggressor treated differently? The double standards for me confirms the point Lavrov is making.

Sure. Let's take our wisdom from a Serbian nationalist whose supporters include war criminals, and genocide denialists. When Serbia accepts that it's past actions have had consequences and finally moves past it's old hatreds, the world might listen to them and take them seriously again. Presently he's fighting a losing battle at home wile choosing very much the wrong side abroad. As a result, Serbia will have more decades of stagnation.

If Russia pulled all troops out of lands where they breached a sovereign boarder and sovereignty was returned to occupied countries or regions, Lavrov would have more credibility to argue his case. Instead, he is a one-man comedy show preaching his jokes to himself, with poor timing and poor delivery. In one joke he speaks about the Monroe Doctrine, that worked for the sovereign independence of Latin America and is completely silent on Russian / German secrete pact to invade Poland and divide between them in 1939. The one take away that makes sense is the tension between democracy and autocracy, and that needs 100% focus and and democracy must prevail. The likes of Russia, China, North Korea, Myanmar, and African autocratic countries are pushing for supremacy while the west was asleep or otherwise preoccupied. Western democracy has now roused from slumber and autocratic countries are finding that uncomfortable and are starting to whine, note Lavrov's tone. Perhaps it is the whining tone that interferes with Lavrov's jokes that gets a laugh, not at the joke but at the delivery. All jokes aside, 2 out of 10 for accuracy.
