It is the duty of children/attendants to wait till the funeral pyre burns atleast 50%. One needs to keep throwing "dry husk" periodically in wooden pyre. Indore CNG/Electric crematorium are best.... In these matters one must not be miserly. The "cremation centre" staff will watch gaurd, the entire time....if some money is paid....and ashes should be collected promptly the early morning.... Leaving shamshaan ghat so early is also the mistake of family.

All said and done, Congress has already lost the race with regard to Narsimha Rao. The humiliation he was handed by Congress cannot be undone now.

Most of the universities specially private universities in India still produce unemployables product ….how is it possible for them to get jobs. This government is at least trying to change the curriculum and make it more efficient..sadly some interested groups instigate students to disrupts the system which is difficult to implement.

@@ravi-it3vj i am not sure 80 crore people need free ration because they dont earn at all. Many people take free grains even when they earn. For example in Kerala, a day labourer earns minimum 1000 a day, but almost 100% of the such families take free grains.But they work in unorganised sector and has no job security. I am not against it. It is our responsibility to reduce their burden a little bit.

Narasimha Rao truly deserve Bharat Ratna. He saved India from the blink of bankruptcy. And changed the course of Indian economy despite the minority government and stabilise the situation in Kashmir and Punjab. And brought the concept of navodaya vidyalaya etc.

Nope, the Congress party was formed to participate in the election during British Raj. There were no freedom fighters in Congress except Bose. Congress was not disbanded to stop the communist rule in India.

Our growth story only began with liberalization, and PV Narsimharao Sir is the true architect of modern India. He was PM for only 5 years, but he single-handedly dismantled the 50 years of poverty enterprise of NEHRUVIAN SOCIALISM. We need to really appreciate Modi for honoring the truly ignored "heroes" of the nation. Whether it is the Padma Awards or Bharat Ratna, the Modi Govt has really honored the nation's most prestigious awards. No doubt, Modi is an astute politician. The timing is bound to be "political," but the recognition of these heroes was long overdue. I hope Modi wins a 3rd term with a huge mandate.

AO Hume convened the first Indian National Union in 1885 i.e., 30 years before Gandhi arrived in India

It's an old CtC from 2020 dear. It's been revived just to show that like most Congress attempts under the current dynastic incumbents, this one also was too late, half hearted and unsuccessful. There is no doubt that PVNR was a truly transformational PM who achieved so much despite so much being stacked against him.

I was eagerly awaiting Shekhar Ji’s insights on this. And wasn’t disappointed!!

Oh I love this India Today edition. I bought this book and it was in my library for a very long time. A memorable event in my young age to see how Indian politicians come together for the country even though they are opposition to each others. Classic case.

Very good decision by goverment. Now real heros are getting the respect they always deserved.

as the political awareness and literacy is increased in INDIA the decline of congress has started. as long as red tapism was prevailed congress ruled the country., when the great P V NARASIMHA RAO started reforming the economy and slowly the country progressed the middle class strengthened, the gandhi family lost the control, because the people was not ready to be fooled, the demolition of babri masjid was only the pretense.to ignore PVN, actually he overshadowed the average IQ leadership of gandhi family..

When Rao bribed jmm shebu soren in the jmm bribery case to save hia govt, my late fater who was a diehard congressman was very happy by the outcome. He told me that Rao is very smart and Congratulate him for saving thousands of crores by not enforcing the elections on the country.

Completely disagreed with the analysis. Honoring some great icon because or their work for the nation doesn’t mean stealing the icon. We all should celebrate.

It is disheartening to see that the bond labor system is still deeply entrenched and prevalent in India despite the direct cash transfer and welfare schemes launched by Prime minister.

PV Narasimha Rao is one of the FEW Indian LEADERS I respect. From both parties. Some things I remember: 1. In his time "militants" surrendered WEEKLY in J&K. (WITH weapons) 2. He rescued some foreign tourists when they were kidnapped in J&K. 3. Expanded the mid-day meal scheme. 4. Ran a REAL MINORITY government!! (he had TOTAL strength of 242 if I remember right!!) 5. PREPARED and was ready for NUCLEAR test! 6. SAVED India from DEFAULT (we were SELLING our gold to make our debt payments!) 7. COURAGEOUSLY transformed our ECONOMY! 8. Recruited a man named - Manmohan! If ONE man from SOUTH can do soo much, imagine what a FUTURE SOUTH leader can do!!

Finally PV Narasimha Rao has been honoured. People are so sympathetic towards Manmohan Singh that everybody was giving credit of reforms to Manmohan as if PVN Rao was non existent & MMS did everything. First of all, it happened due to IMF conditions & PM Rao went against socialist Congress lobby to do it. But 3rd party Manmohan took all credit for just doing Paper work.

Look I support Modi that doesn't mean we have to follow every word of Modi. He's a politician, he praised Gulam Nabi Azad & Pranab Da as well. He always praises Gandhi. I don't consider these praises seriously because these are all for political purposes. MMS shouldn't be given Bharat Ratna because he had damaged the reputation of PM chair by being servant to Sonia. I'd have supported MMS if liberalisation was his own idea but it's not... He was supporter of Nehruvian socialism before 1990.

I expected on this day a lecture on the pros and cons of BJP resurrecting Mr. Rao, but I am made to listen to the parivaar making amends. Who can forgive or forget the party closing the main gate of its H.Q and not providing him a funeral in Delhi. The BJP has scored a political goal, and Congress will not be able to wriggle out. The parivaar can write letters, have seminars, and run ads on newspapers, but janata know why they are doing now.

Congress Gandhi Dynasty never liked any Leader with a Strong Personality that outshines the Gandhi Family. Be it Sardar Patel, Lal Bahadur Shashtri, Narasimha Rao, AB Vajpayee, Scyndia, Cpt Ameinder Singh or MM Singh. This reason alone is their Achille's heels and they don't realize it. Even today, Instead of Rahul Gandhi carrying out Bharat Jodo Yatra in 1 Direction, Imagine if 4 Congress Leaders did this Yatra in 4 different Directions in entire India, Like Shashi Taroor in South, Kanhaiya kumar in West (Even though I'm not a fan of him), Sachin Pilot in North and Abhiranjan Chaudhry In East, The Yatra would be 10 times more effective, But the reason is simple - They only want to portray Rahul Gandi, And no one should be able to stand on the same ranks or surpass him. And this foolishness is the reason they will keep losing.. .

So glad Narasimha Rao is being honored by the Government. He made many mistakes but he is responsible for making an atmosphere for Manmohan Singh to be the finance minister and opening up the economy. Congress is truly a feudal family party whose time is past. It is best for Congress to get out of the clutches of the Nehru-Gandhi family.
