What kick ass parents these guys have. The dad gives him a credit card and tells him use what you need and his son returns the card after the tour with out spending a cent. What a son.

Being from San Diego, this band was a big part of my life. I remember when i first heard Through Struggle, i knew instantly they were one of my favorites. They got me into the heavier types of music. RIP As I Lay Dying 2000-2014 Thanks for the memories!

The song ( Forever ) was when As I Lay dying took off. I remember finding that music video on on demand. I believe I was a freshman in high school and that’s when the rock shit took off for me. Grew out my hair, died it black, bleached a small part of my bangs, pierced my neck and lip and rocked the fuck on from there on out lol Now that I’m 31 I’ve lost the piercings, cut my hair and no longer have it died but I still jam to As I lay dying and everyone else from that era like it’s 2005 again 🤘🏻

I always get so emotional watching this or listening to their music. They are a great part of my life, as I was in a band and they were my idols and people to look up to, and I have a lot of beautiful memories including their music. Me and my ex were watching every 'making of' video and tour videos, and we were so happy to see them grow as a band. I still can't believe that such a stupid thing led to the end of the band. I really wish Tim didn't mess up, and that they were still playing and making us all happy.

One of my favourite bands for sure and I'm so glad they got back together! Also happy to see that Tim seems to be doing better and working on making up for his mistakes. But still when his wife first pops up in this, my first reaction was just being sad knowing what would later happen. I felt like I was watching a horror movie yelling "run bitch run!" at the screen lol

Bro, have you seen the doc "Hired Guns" on Netflix yet?? If not then it's a must watch! It's all about some of the biggest Metal/HC bands out there from the 90s to present day and how those bands hire temp members, mainly guitarists/bassists, as "Hired Guns" and how those Hired constantly get the shit end of the stick with lame to zero pay, are never invited or involved with ANY of the writing processes, get taken on tour only to find out they literally have to pay their own way with EVERYTHING especially the logistics only being given the tour info where the next venue is only to be told to figure it out & get themselves there. There's a shit ton more to it but I don't wanna spoil the entire doc cause the watch anticipation are a huge part of it. If you or anyone else goes and watches it, please come back to this comment/conversation and tell me what you think/thought of it. I'm very serious cause a shit ton of fans and even muscians haven't the slightest idea of what it's like and what goes down being a Hired gun, put down and basically have their dreams destroyed by trying to help out and attempt to live their dreams.

I also remember being very nervous cause the crowd, the band list, and the fact the microphone cord didn't go past the side of the stage haha. I still recall those days!

Wooooow I never knew at the beginning and pretty much throughout their existence they should have been called “As We Never Are the Same Members” lmao, J/k. However I am still shocked and highly feel a possible opportunity missed. I have listened and loved As I Lay Dying since the moment I heard “American Tragedy” album when I was 18 YOUNG at a friends house, I had also been self learning guitar for about 4 years by then 2 years learning how to play that kind of metal after I had already been playing Bass for about 6 years as I was in my middle school and high school orchestra. Then when I got “Frail Words Collapse” about a week after it’s release I was sooooo intrigued and inspired I immediately sat down after about a week of listening to the entire thing over and over and learned how to play every song from start of the album to the last song all the way through non stop, if I could not find the tablature for it then I would try and do it by ear until I could start the CD and play along with it till the very end. If I would have known that they were always losing and looking for guitar and bass players throughout that entire time, I would have for sure found anyway of contacting any of them and sent them a video, recording, ANYTHING TO HAVE SHOWN THEM, Hey I love y’all music and can play it and like minded when it comes to writing and I’m in my young prime as well so I would be more than happy and great full to put my life on pause to come and be apart of what you guys are doing and writing and I will stay that way till As I lay dying lol. However young and dumb me was sitting there playing all their songs flawlessly on the guitar under the assumption that those peeps mentioned were and will always be As I Lay Dying so just keep enjoying and do nothing more than listen to them and play along as loud as you possibly can. Lol Damn it, damn it, damn it. Ohhhhhhhh what could have been? But oh well still love this band dearly and emotionally, I don’t care what has been done, everyone makes mistakes, peeps deal with hard times in different situations, I could never take someone’s life nor hire someone to do the job for me or even think about that, but that is not for me to judge so IDC I will always be a fan of their work and all the other Texas guitarist hahaha even though I’m from Georgia. Also the answer is YES at this point in time I can still play every single As I Lay Dying song ever written on bass and guitar except the newly released ones and as soon as I have the free time in my adult years( next 2 weeks or so) will learn those too. Cheers everyone, As I Lay Dying A Forever Fan

Nick reminds me of kirk hammet lol. Clint was sick. They came to my city fresno California in the early 2000's and clint somehow literally broke his nose on the first song. I cant remember if he hit himself with his bass or another band member hit him accidentally but he didn't quit. They had to take a quick 5 minute break to plug his nose since it would not stop bleeding but he came back out and kept going insane on stage as clint did. Then after the show they allowed fans to come up on stage and talk to them like a quick meet and greet and i got to meet tim and give him a hug and talk to him for a minute. I was like 15. Ill never forget that night.

Yeah, I know who they are but I always enjoy AILD for the screams, makes it mean. This is more soft, but it's still good, don't get me wrong.

These guys were so awesome. I'm a Christian. I loved their music; in particular Tim Lambesis' lyrics, which helped me in my walk with God.. and it's just a shame to see how they fell apart after playing metal for so long.
