You’re amazing, better than my book with this part
Awesome! I didn't understand the casparian strip part in the Raven biology of plants and this video really Helped me. Thanks!

Same dude! I couldn't understand it in the my primary textbook so I refered to Raven Johnson and to my surprise I still couldn't get the perfect grasp of it. This video is fab.
Oh thank you very much this was very helpful and your tellings are really nice!
THANKS A TON!! i couldn't find a video on this topic until yours..thank you so so much :))

Mam you are my best teacher
such a beautiful illustration❤
Hello ma'am, Thank you for this great video and being so kind to the students by explaining everything so beautifully. QUERY- At 5.45, you said that water enters the root through diffusion. This has confused me as in the texts we follow, it says that water enters the root through osmosis. Request you to please clear this doubt. Thank you.
Incredible explanation
Doubts were cleared!
THAT'S RLY HELPFUL!!! TYSM. : )
Blessings to you
Thank you so much
This definitely cleared a lot of my doubts, thank you so much for it 😄. But one of doubts remain that Why do Passage Cells(non-suberinised) exist in endodermis? Wouldn't it disrupt the whole process? Water can reach the space between Cell Wall and Membrane, via Apoplast pathway, of Passage cells.

very cool
do all cells that make up the endodermis have the casparian strip?
Thanks ma'am
Thank you

You're welcome!
Might be a stupid question but why does water never travel around the outside of the casparian strip?
Could you please explain how the casparian strip protects the plant against pathogens? Thanks

Okay so what's happening is that, In the apoplast pathway, the water only has to cross cell wall, and then from one cell wall to the other it travels, until it reaches the casparian strip. Cell wall is permeable, so it will allow, all pathogens, ions, minerals and nutrients through (basically the cell wall, has no guards to control what can or can not enter). But casparian strip forces the water to pass a semi-permeable membrane, which is the cell membrane located inner to the cell wall. The cell membrane can control what enters the cell, so if it detects pathogens, or any harmful ions, those will not be allowed to enter and eventually diffuse out of the cell wall. Hope that helped :)
