Why would the next gen be a drop in ability? As for the value, I don't know what's that :) You do not need to rush and get a 40x0 GPU just because the next gen is coming out and you don't like it. Get the card only because you need it. In my books, the 4070 TI Super is the best value for the money. You can get it for $800 or less, and it performs almost like a 4080. It is very close to 4080 in performance rather than a 4070 because it is built using 4080 component.
