Watch those last 2 games again. Tatum couldn't do ANYTHING with Luka on him. Brown didn't even bother trying. The man is SLOW laterally and was playing with a sprained knee, sprained ankle AND bruised ribs and people are bitching about his defense when Dallas held Boston to 20ppg under their season average. You think they did that against a weak defense? Hell no....Luka is going to be back healthy and back to dropping 35-45ppg in the playoffs AND he's going to be passing to Klay instead of Derrick Jones. They're going to have to start Lively eventually because he's just too good. That said, I hope they stay with Gafford a little longer. The man is great with the lobs and the blocks (and a handful of rebounds) playing against the other team's starting 5. Then you get Lively and instant energy off the bench right as they're making substitutions. Makes Lively so much more effective. But at some point I know they won't have a choice. He's definitely the more talented player.

He did a great job but you need scoring more than defense off the bench. Naji is easily a better shooter and scorer. He's also pretty good defensively. Jones would have been unhappy going back to the bench and he wouldn't be as effective. Worked out for the best once they got Klay.

@@dancrews715 He's not washed. He had some cold streaks this year but his averages were fine. 39% 3pt shooting? 18ppg? That's real close to where he's always been. GS is all based on motion offense which gets them shots, but it wears them out (all their players average 33-35 minutes) and the shots they take are turnarounds, fadaways, and sidestep 3s. Klay is going to be able to stand at the line and Luka will find him wide open, or they'll get him open through screens. Those shots are going to be way easier and you'll see him have a better year than last year....as long as they all stay healthy.

People tend to look over that the Mavs weren't meant to even make the playoffs. After Kyrie missing games during the first half of the season as well as Luka having knee issues and then the trade deadline they clawed their way to the 5th spot and got underestimated each round until Western Conference Finalists again! Sadly everything fell short due to all the problems that had led up to it. With Klay coming in to help solidify them into a Big 3 as well as Lively, PJ and Gafford as well as some other trades.....things are looing interesting for this upcoming year.

Phoenix drives me crazy. They had a semi-finals team that gave Denver fits with NO POINT GUARD. Then instead of getting a point guard, they got Bradly Beal and took away their most explosive player and made him play mediocre point guard. Then this offseason they said, "Nah, we're good." How do you stick with that team with 4 shooters and no passer? People are out of their minds. They're calling for OKC to be best because they got Caruso and Hartenstein but they're forgetting Dallas beat them with Jones instead of Klay, and Luka playing on one leg! The man is the most consistent playoff performer in the league. It's him, Jordan and Wilt at the top of the heap. Then OKC gets him when he's hurt AND HAS HOME COURT ADVANTAGE!
