Arvor 20 Series II Fishing Boat | Sea demonstration | John Crawford Marine

The Arvor 20 Series II is a fiberglass, semi displacement, diesel powered, shaft drive boat. It has a centre cabin and very large, open, uncluttered cockpit for the fishing and diving enthusiast. The cockpit also features as standard a self draining deck which comes in handy when the boat is moored or heading into heavy seas.
A live bait tank, walk through transom and door, underfloor kill tank and convenient handrails and bow rails provide secure passage forward around the centre cabin design. The wheelhouse door gives easy access to the cabin, which offers plenty of lockers and storage compartments to keep the place tidy and belongings dry. The hatch on the roof and the wide windscreen provide lots of light and fresh air.
The 2005 Arvor 20 is powered by a Nanni Diesel (Kubota Block) 5 cylinder, turbo charged, freshwater cooled engine. This model is the 5.250TdI with a 2500CC intercooled turbo. Proven to be reliable and efficient. But the turbo waste gate can stick if not properly maintained. The engines in this hull are known to use around 10L per hour at a cruise speed of 17 knots.
Other standard equipment includes a VHF radio, safety glass windscreen, boarding ladder, swim platform, electric bilge pump, electric wipers large anchor well, navigation lights.

Hi there Nottelingu, Yes they have a small v berth, the earlier Series one had one full length bunk but at the sacrifice of where a passenger would stand in the wheelhouse to a degree. The Series Two (as this one is) removed that extended port bunk and then offered a bunk extension piece that were available for owners if they wanted that ability to overnight. Yes their heritage is the North Sea for fishing. Very stable at rest as our video demonstrates awesome offshore boats!. Matt

Hi Wade, Great to hear from you. You know I love the Arvor 20! The day for testing was a little "too good" not really showing off her real rough water abilities, but none the less, a great day for being on the water! This boat was sold by JCM about the time you purchased yours, one owner and loaded with quality accessories as the video outlines. Trust all is well. Matt

This 2005 boat is powered by the Nanni 85Hp 2.250TdI. The way she has been engineered, she has a cruise of approx. 16Kn to 17Kn and a top speed with a clean bottom of just on 20Kn WOT. Fuel burn of approx. 9l per hour at 18Kn.... Fuel usage is always subjective, but from experience I am confident with these figures of this Arvor.

and what would be top speed of these boats? being diesel are they much better on fuel than say a 4 stroke 150hp

I'm damn impressed with its looks, super strong build, love diesel inboards for economy and reliability, BUT, whilst whilst Matt is a BIG unit, it worries me a bit about the lean on the boat to starboard with just Matt fishing alone (4min 20sec mark of video)? I've owned a fair few boats over the years with variety of degrees in V hulls, but wondering if the newer models (mate looking at a 2018) if they have solved that problem at the rear of the boat?(leaning)
