Yet I do enjoy both designs very much, the alien grabby claws and mouths work great and the butch wolf (sorry, it's still a wolf to me lol; maybe it would feel different without the ears or if the ears were horns) looks very intimidating.

I would agree. I am not an artist and couldn't do 1/100 of an amazing job as done here, that said I think the mask is the most important part of the original predator. If you have the 1st movie where the predator never had the mask I wouldn't find it as believable as this "ultimate hunter" it is. I think the reimagine here is missing that "sleek, intelligent" aspect that the mask of the predator gives the original.

Man, I wish this had more views. Reimagining such iconic characters is a great challenge for any artist, but you really show how you can move beyond film limitations!

Also, don't forget, the Jazza brushes for photoshop work for Adobe Fresco on the iPad. anyway, I was always a big fan of predator. The newest movie, "Prey" was absolutely amazing. Excellent work both of you.

Fun fact: the Predator was originally meant be played by Jean-Claude Van Damme in a suit matching the scrapped design you showed! But the suit didn’t work well and was too hard for Van Damme to move in, so they ended up redesigning into the Predator we know today! Anyway, this was super fun! I love redesigns of classic characters/monsters, and hearing your reasonings behind your design choices was really great and very enlightening to your end designs. I would love to see more like this! Keep up the good work!

Imo the main aspect of the predators is that they’re based on the most terrifying predator: man.

You two are my favorite Artist on this show. One of you starts from a more chaotic place and ends in fantastic art... the other more technical and again ends with fantastic art. It shows all of us we can all come from different start points and if we trust our process end with beautiful art. This episode was great, THANKS!

Loved the alien version! Predator was a bit too far away from the og for me but still a great concept. Know your channel has been struggling but plz keep going!

the thing that made the xenomorph, and Alien movie extra scary (for me) was all the sexuality and genital imagery. alien head, face hugger mouth-thingie, the alien ship etc. all screams sex and gives an eerie feeling to it all. for redesigning a xenomorph and still have some kind of HR Gieger feeling, I would love to see if, and how, you would bring in some of his other paintings and designs. other sexual organs, dead babies, bursting wounds etc. But I'm not sure this is the correct channel for that kind of imagery. Keep up the good work

Alysha’s Predator wouldn’t look out of place in the 40K universe. You better talk to Jazza and Dave about it

This video needs the crossover sequel, Ariel's Alien vs Alysha's Predator. For the Predator's trophies, it would be cool if its weapons were made from the teeth or claws or horns of different predatory animals and the tools were clearly of different origins.

The reimagined predator made me think of the Charr race from Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2.

These have to be my favorite horror monsters in fiction, so seeing them redesigned is amazing! Personally love the alien redesign, though I can agree with the criticisms. The predator original design can't be topped for me, but that redesign is a VERY close second. I agree it was a little too far from the original, but it was still pretty cool. I love them both!

It doesn't dislocate, their joints are just that flexible

0:56 I feel like Predators hunt people for religion, like they are only honored if they best a combatant that actually has a chance of winning. For example, a human hunter will shoot a deer for no reason, while a Predator only goes after other warriors and will not initiate an attack until they are armed. (Although the lore for the Predator species gets more and more misunderstood with each movie/reboot, but I consider the original 1986 movie the truest movie)

Great work! I thought the Alien design was so great, and I could see that being used as a potential movie Alien...Agree though, the head could've been different...but then it wouldn't be an Alien.

Is it just me or does Ariel's design and process show very strong Hardy Fowler vibes? Fantastic work as always!

[Ariel] Absolutely right! Good eye 😍 It was literally Hardy Fowler’s videos I learned from when I needed a monster design workflow, since it’s not really something I’ve done before. Think I mentioned him in an earlier video, might’ve been Warhammer 1 or Randomized Mythological Creatures 😊

They both look awesome..... I feel like you guys could have pushed the designs even further away from the originals in terms of aesthetics, but kept to functionality.... that would have been cool to see. But what you did was awesome.... I love the idea of the Alien rib cage opening up and ingesting someone in that way. I think the facehugger can lay an egg in a creature with an opening ribcage, and you could get this kind of Alien. You guys did awesome.... I love the designs. :)

The reimagined xenomorph definitely still has xenomorph vibes. The Predator is too different. When you look at it you don't think Predator.

Mmmmh... okay, honest opinion : Reimaginated Predator is not alien (no pun intented) enough for my taste. Not bad but boiled down, it's just a scaled werewolf. 6/10 ! Reimaginated Alien on the other hand, feels like an actual variant of the OG design while being disturbingly different enough to be its own thing, so, 8/10 !

As its own thing, I like your Predator redesign! But I don't think it fits as a Predator. It looks like Anubis. I feel like the fact Predator is like a giant tribal man with a crab for a head with dreadlocks, is iconic, and his whole thing, along with his code of collecting warrior skulls. The Xenomorph is cool but looks like a cousin species rather than a redesign. (Btw I don't want to sound too critical, your videos are fun to watch)
