The Artists of our Nations series features Artists and their work at the Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre in Whistler. Lil'wat Carver Redmond Q̓áwam̓ Andrews shares his story and personal connection to carving and recent projects including Ed NoiseCat of the Lil'wat Nation. In the summer of 2024, Redmond will be mentored by Master Carver Jonathan Joe of the Lil'wat Nation as they carve the story pole as the second part of the Salish Summer Carving Series that featured Xwalacktun (Sḵwx̱wú7mesh / Kwakwak’wakw / Namgis) and Brandon Hall (Sḵwx̱wú7mesh) carving in 2023, the two carvings will be sisters telling complimentary stories.
