Wow! Nice one, Alex! Don’t retire from painting just yet! 🩵 I particularly love your use of different colors that happen to be the correct value for the painting! Very creative.

That was fun! I always enjoy watching Colley's paintings come to life, and watching Alex's painting develop was really interesting too. Alex has definitely picked up important tips from his Dad. Both paintings are really good. As Colley's always are! Well done and thank you

Fun! This really demonstrates the differences between experienced and less experienced painting. I wish you pointed what those differences were, specifically. That would have been more of a learning experience. Thanks! Enjoyed!

Hi, Alex here 👋 I’d say that being around dad’s work I’ve recognised his ability to structure and build out a scene, starting with the dominant shapes, then letting those passages connect the rest of the scene together; crossing all the T’s and dotting all the I’s in the last 5-10%. I had a lot of fun on this one and definitely will paint again at some point. Thanks for your comment.

Greetings! The difference between artists and painting lovers depends in my point of view on the skill of each person. There are also painting lovers who know how to create beautiful works even if they do not have a wealth of knowledge about painting techniques. And there are also those who consider themselves artists and make paintings that even children could make. You are also and I mean "VERY" lucky enough to find an art critic who places you in a famous gallery as an emerging painter and that your works are to be considered great works of art and that's it. You can also be a very good ARTIST and not be lucky enough to meet an Art Critic who puts you in the loop of the Art business and you spend your time painting canvas after canvas without being able to sell as happened to Vincent Van Gogh and many other great artists. Take for example the great artist Jackson Polloch who was lucky enough to meet that journalist who made him known and managed to establish himself as a GREAT ARTIST otherwise he wouldn't have needed to throw color after color on the canvases.
