In this artist spotlight we followed Versuz around the streets of Los Angeles, through downtown alley's, rooftops, empty lots, Billboards, and permission walls to document the versatility he brings to the graffiti culture. Known as one of Los angeles' most dedicated graffiti artist's, Versuz talks about how he stays motivated, how he prepares for a night of bombing, and how he plans to stay ahead of the competition. special thanks to KzerGabeGallery (IG @KzerGabeGallery) and Hunter Photograpghy (IG @hunter_) for the photos.

I already had mad respect for Versuz, but hearing his tenets of philosophy really made have even more respect for home dude! And he's absolutely right about the streets versus the corporations. Government corporate collusion is fucking rampant and it's us versus them. *Mad respect!*

Not only that, something like 30% of those Billboards that corporations put up are TOTALLY ILLEGAL!!!!!!!!! But.... They've got enough money, that it's a waste of the city's ca$h, b/c they'll send a ton of heavy lawyers, and after a year or two, they might get a fine... But, in that time, the city will have wasted 10's of thousands to millions, per EACH ILLEGAL BILLBOARD! And in the time it takes in court, the company has already made millions off their add... ughhhhhhhhh. It's amazing... they put that shit up illegally, and writers go over them... and It's a felony charge! ... - PRISON, NO MORE VOTING, NO MORE GUN OWNERSHIP, & WAY HARDER TO GET A JOB... So.... what are their options? Take a writer or a non-violent drug offender, and the system will turn them into REAL CRIMINALS! They have almost no choice at that point, unless they get lucky.. sheeeit.. Makes me sick! Oh... and in LA, (Which used to be THE MURAL CAPITAL OF THE WORLD) if you want to put a MURAL (GRAFF, OR NOT) on "YOUR OWN PROPERTY," you now, after what is so unconstitutional, & beyond ridiculous because of the "MURAL MORATORIUM," have to apply for a permit.. which can take awhile, if you know anything about bureaucracy, you know that it's a nightmare, & many get turned down. YOU NO LONGER HAVE THE RIGHT TO CHANGE THE "PAINT" ESSENTIALLY, ON YOUR OWN PROPERTY??? IT COULD BE SOMETHING DECORATIVE, POLITICAL, GRAFF.... IT SHOULDN'T MATTER..... WHEN IT'S "YOUR PROPERTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" BUT UP GO THOUSANDS OF ILLEGAL FVCKING BILLBOARDS!
