I make videos covering famous photographers, photography techniques, composition, the history of photography and much more.
I also have a strong community of photographers who watch the show and we frequently do social media challenges for photographers to submit their own work. I feature the best and most interesting on the show when we do these so come check it out and get involved!

This is hands down one of my favorite KZread channels. Ted is very well informed, very pleasant to listen to, and this channel has easily become one of my primary educational resources. Ted, if you read this, keep up the great work bro!
I love the interaction with the dogs. I got a sense they enjoy the time in front of the camera, a deeply relaxed energy. The photographs show that with clarity and vision.
There comes a time in an artist’s life when he seeks not a style but personal answers. I think Mr. Wegman is discovering who he is through his art. See how his dogs resembles his slim framework and look! He projects himself in them in such a way that he becomes the outside observer for his own inward exploration. The whole setup is a laboratory experiment where he can undertake a psychological introspection of himself. He questions their (his) stimuli at any given circumstances. He dresses up the dogs in offbeat context, much like he once did, portrays them in uncanny ways facing the viewer as if asking “What do you think of me?”, and when we see him talking to them, he is in fact talking to himself, asking questions, seeking answers. He is quite an original artist. I see his quest and wishes him the best. Thanks Ted for this insight which is quite inspiring!
Fantastic short, Mr. Wegman is a true artist.
That first .40sec was exactly what I needed to hear.
Bill Wegman is so much deeper than I had imagined. Thank you Ted for the excellent film.
This takes me back to all the true and humourous weimaraner pictures Wegman had featured in American Photo in the 80s and 90s. Haven't thought about his work in years. Thanks for that Ted. Lovely little film.
I enjoyed watching this. He is such a comedian. If today was his prime, I see being a famous comedian youtuber and still be a filmmaker of course. Love it! He's a joy to watch.
I learned so much. The dog photographs are known by many, of course. But the man's story was truly fascinating and, for me at least, unknown.

Yep, same here. I remember those pictures, but I never knew the shooters story. What a wonderful man. By the way, that shot in the vid of the pup raising his head above the table just hit me for some reason. Beautiful animals.
Love it! Wegmans work was one of the reasons i got a Weimaraner myself.
Beautiful words from the artist, very honest and and insightful.
Outstanding. Thank you Ted and William.
amazing man thank you !!! I really appreciate your artists films!!
Thanks for this series of films just brilliant Ted!!
Really good. Beautiful in fact. Thank you.
Very thoughtful reflection! Appreciate this so much!!
I saw that the video was posted, I loaded it, made popcorn, and watched it. Good stuff, keep it up.
Ted. Another triumph! What I am seeing in production value is Ted Forbes stepping aside allowing an empowering of the artists and their story. It is Ted behind the production and yet you are unseen as a good documentarian should be. I hope that this continuity continues throughout the series as it adds cohesiveness to the entirety of the series. Bravo! * one small production note: When watching in television mode on my android sony television the KZread graphics obscure opening shot. A short 2-3 seconds of black or title slate would cure this for our sofa viewers. Excellent Job!
Fantastic series. I just watched the three, and loved them. It is educational on so many levels, and very special to hear these important artists speaking about their work and how they see. Thank you.
Great job on these so far, can't wait for the next one!
I love the Artist Series. Great work, Ted! Keep 'em coming!
AMAZING! nothing else to say Ted, this was beautifully done and it was great to find out more about William.
great video. and great job with this project, Ted.
This is beautiful and inspiring. I loved watching William Wegman's video art in college and it was great seeing some of those old clips. As a video series itself, this is really well done. It's well shot and edited and it's clear you put real time and effort into this video. I look forward to watching more in this series.
Ted this was truly beautiful, you've really inspired me recently. I've been in a stage of insecurity with my direction photographically, however watching you talk about it as an art form over comparing pixels. This film was beautiful, the work incredible!
Thank you Ted! As an avid follower I enjoy your versatility of ideas. Not only for the sheer pleasure of them, but also that they connect me with a vision of art and artists presented in your unique style. This, your latest video was fascinating, touching, and educational. Please continue to bring everything you got to your great site. Your work ethic and dedication are greatly appreciated.
My 'share' of the day. There's hope for us all .....
I've always loved his work. Thank you, Ted.
Well done Ted. Can't wait for more of these!

Ted, this is so captivating and full of insights into a wonderful history.
excelente and i love it , thanks ted
I had the pleasure of attending a lecture by Wegman at OSU in the 90's, while I was studying graphic design. It left a thumbprint on the way I see video & photography today.
Ted.... this is fantastic. Thank you.
Great video, thank you!
Moving video Ted, thank you!

...minute of silence for awesomeness...
I love this!
Ted, this is phenomenal.
God dam Ted that was moving, :( Its sad to hear about the end of that era with working with that camera. But its also amazing to see the history behind these photographs. Cant wait for the next one. :D
I have always wondered what he was thinking with his dog pictures. I had just assumed it was the 60s & 70s. was good to hear his perspective. Its a great series.
Soooooooooooooooo good!
I love this so much

Great video 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Génial. Superbe.
Good stuff!
amazing
Great!
This is first class filmmaking, very engaging from beginning to end. I certainly learned a lot about Wegman that I did not know! And I have to admit I didn't know much. About all I knew was that he was famous for his clever photographs of his dogs. But your film really opened this artist up to me in a whole new way. For example I had no idea how involved he was with using video as an artistic medium. Or that he started out as a painter. Or how his influences are comedians and writers, I thought that very interesting. Usually one tends to think artists look to others who do similar work as influences but thanks to your good filmmaking the effect of these seemingly unrelated influences makes a lot of sense. I've watched a few of these artist series films now and I can't or won't even say there is a favorite to me, they're all brilliant, well crafted pieces that deserve some kind of prestigious award.
Well done
Hi Ted Just watch the video and then I recalled the few years ago the quote was "personally I can't stand" I'm assuming some things have changed;while his content isn't for me but I do enjoy the technical aspect. Fantastic series hope to see more.
I liked hearing about Williams multiple instances of breaking the mold, including his own "going against my manifesto" he says at one point, and not using the hold reel of film. Also at the start he talks about instructors saying how the work should look, but then you as an artist are just reflection of the instructors art sense and less of your own. Great video Ted. excelente keep doing it
Nice short

Hi Mr. Forbes. I really like your Work, and i loved this series of videos you've done. Im from Brazil, i love photography, and i wish more people could be able to appreciate this work i've done. Would you like to do some subtitles in Brazilian Portuguese? If you do, im totally here to do it with you. I'll just need some help and of course your consentment. Keep the great job you're doing here on KZread. By the way... I saw your video about Neistat, im a big fan of his work too, but , he massages our eyes, and you... You massages our brains.
