    I hate when I draw a random person that is NO ONE REAL and people ask "who is that?" .. Why do I need to explain my person? It's my great aunt Mildred half removed and yes, she really does have purple hair and stars on her cheeks. Also - Great video! Super cute and right on the money. I'm not getting my deposit back on my apartment because of paint. Oops.

    Digital artists go through the same stuff, except were asked to do stuff for free because we enjoy our work or because it's "so simple to do because the computer does it for you." I tell them to go do it then, I don't accept commissions from rude people.

    for reals, I get asked for free work all the time too. It's funny how people will say art isn't important or valuable, but then ask for it (for free) XD clearly there has to be some demand or benefit if you want it.

    +Elika Adam (Art in Andonia) I paint with oil paints, but I am getting a drawing tablet because I want to start doing art on the computer. But it still takes lots of work to do it! I HATE when people want me to paint but I don't really want to paint for them if they don't pay me, it's just $30, you can pay it!

    "Oh hey, I see your drawing your character. Mind if I just barge in and ask if you can draw my rainbow cat character? Yeah, this one here with the ultra complicated design? Yeah. I want it fully colored and shaded in maybe 30 minutes. You don't have enough markers? Use mine. You use crayola brand, right? While I'm at it, let me critique your art when you don't really want any." Part of why I'm homeschooled now is all of this.

    lol. at 2:10- unwanted advice: I had such an irritating experience! in faculty I painted my first commission- a byzantine icon (which is terribly time consuming and needs precision and dedication- I also had a lot of trouble with the gold leaf, etc. I worked a lot ! wasn't totally pleased with it, but it was the best I could do then). a girl from our hostel came ( studied letters- no connection with art) and looked at the icon and said: " Erm... the gold leaf is not applied well, the colours aren't very nice, the face of the Virgin Mary should be bigger, the eyes of Baby Jesus aren't exactly right.... you know what? you should scrape it all off! that'd be a great idea!" " then I broke! why the... should I want to do that???" "I thought you may need the wood panel again..." " I DON'T NEED THE RUDDY WOOD PANEL! I HAVE ANOTHER ONE! I spent weeks on this icon! I am NOT GOING TO SCRAPE IT OFFF!!!!" "Ah well... if you can't accept constructive advice..." and she left.

    JonnyJamCam , I guess people always like to look smart. If they see talented people (in any field) that can do smth they can't, they'll always try to give advice\ criticize in order to feel superior in some way. (Ehem, it happened to me too. I only realised afterwards that I criticized somebody only because I was gealous. ) Of course, having an opinion about smth is part of the freedom to speak \ think. It's very good that people have opinions. I guess we must train ourselves to listen to the constructive ideas and not to give a damn about the rest.

    Netta Pana Eh...about every person in the known universe. Some people consider it it unique and live up to their name, but some people are tryhards, like someone at my school. Real conversation incoming; "Hey, Anouk, do you think I'm socially awkward and a shy cute girl?" lmfao "No, I don't think so. Who are you asking?" (im a savage) "Stop answering a question with a question dude!" (seriously) "But I just told you the answer, no!" "Uhhhh" (generic bitchy middle school girl sound) This actually happened lol. You might be wondering why I told you this, and its so that you're aware of wannabes, people like this girl who think that being something they aren't attracts more attention and makes them seem special. Truth is, all its doing is making them seem like a selfish brat. I wrote this so that you have a somewhat idea that there are personality liars in this world, and its kinda like a warning. But whatever, you're probably someone more mature, and you seem like a good person. Just telling you this so that you're aware of idiots.

    There was this girl in my class, and whenever I drew something, the first thing she saw was what was wrong with it. Every time, she would just walk up to me and say “Those teeth look creepy” or “Those aren’t the right colors,” even though she has no art experience and probably couldn’t do it herself. This other time, a boy in my class asked me if I could draw his parents so he could give them a Christmas present. I said yes, I was fine with doing it, and I was actually really excited. The day I gave it to him, I thought it was one of the best drawings I had ever made and I was super proud, but then that girl walked up and said, “That mouth is terrible,” and made everyone feel bad.

    The apron problem is easy to fix. Just tie it like you normally have it, mark the loose strings about 15cm from the knot and cut them off with a scissor at that point. Optionally sow a few stitches around the stumps to keep them from fraying.

  • @SteinGauslaaStrindhaug

    @SteinGauslaaStrindhaug

    Alternatively, just remove all your clothes and paint entirely nude. Then you don't need the apron to protect your clothes. (Maybe so not practical for KZreadr artists, sine then you'll have a lot of extra edit work blurring everything.. )

    This made me laugh, like seriously cracked me up lol. Only an artist can truly relate to this to the full extent lol. I thought I was alone... but that social awkwardness nailed it. "Oh no they texted me what do I say oh no they're calling hang up hang up hang up" LOL I guess it's not just social anxiety I have. It's just, like, artist... ism?! Lol

    Hah yeah somehow I didn't even put that together. I wonder if it is a thing for a lot of artists. For the skit I was more just thinking how I lose social lubrication when I work alone for hours without seeing anyone, but beyond that- most times I go out with people I don't know SUPER well, I always have anxiety lurking until I can get over the anticipation and see it's 'ok' and I know how to form words and engage people (for the most part lol)

    Hey, it's kind of the same thing for writers! :) Paint = ink/graphite all over your hands, eraser dust everywhere on the floor and in your bed... and the soreness thing is SO TRUE. The botom and tip of my right tumb hurts so bad right now... I can't rotate it without the bone popping in and out of it's place and on the "wedding ring finger" of my right hand, I have a huge bump where the pencil sits when I take notes. People call this the "writer's bump" I heared. :) My back hurts too after jours of work of course. :p Often I'm in a blitz of ideas and I would like keep writing but my hand just doesn't want to allow me to do it lol.

    My problems are only loss of supplies,money,time,unwanted advice and people telling me to draw them.My friend wanted me to draw the Mona Lisa,another one wanted me to draw a bird,someone else wanted me to draw a parrot,my best friend wanted me to draw her and pretty much all the girls in my class wanted ne to draw something for me and I only got to do the Mona Lisa and bird.But doing both was exhausting to be honest.And In my previous school,one friend wanted me to draw a horse for her,and she is STILL waiting.I feel sorry for her,bit I am very occupied.
