Arthur Smith's Offense, Part Two : The Passing Game

Спорт

The Pittsburgh Steelers have made Arthur Smith their new offensive coordinator, and with that comes plenty of questions as to how he wants to manipulate a defense and set up his offense for success.
Going back to his time with the Tennessee Titans and Atlanta Falcons, it is worth breaking this down as to what his resume has shown us in all facets. In this second part of a two-part series, Steel Curtain Network's coach K.T. Smith breaks down Arthur Smith's passing attack.

I didn’t think I’d like the passing breakdown as much as your last run breakdown because I’m a “run” guy but this was easy to understand. When I learned earlier how low the percentage of “catchable” balls went to receivers like Pitts, it aligns with one of your expectations of Bad QB play could have had a bigger impact on ATL offense. Cool show

This is the Offense Russ ran in Seattle, hes gonna turn back into old Russ again, Sean Payton's Offense had him thinking to much in this offense he can just react & play fast

Triangle concept should be an easy grasp for Kenny...love the detail in your explanation...However, my concern is our defense...will you be sharing defensive schemes and such? I think our D needs lots of work.

First let me say you do a great job. My concern is on all those throws a quarterback has to throw into windows and see open. Stay in the pocket. Watching Pickett for two years. I think Pickett is to afraid of interceptions to throw the ball down the field and into tight windows. He will not throw over the middle and will take the easy check down. I see one of three things happening. Pickett has trouble adjusting to the throws has a bad year and they say well he needs more time. Pickett gets hurt and gets another year. Been watching this game a long time and not just the steelers. Pickett lacks arm talent and has problems in the pocket. Slow processing of plays. Can’t read zone. I don’t see him being a franchise quarterback and maybe not even a starter but for this year. The fact both Ridder and Henike failed and they made some good throws in this offense says something. Rudolph killed it with the old offense. The best at throwing players open was Peyton Manning in his prime. Rudolph was able to go through his progressions with no problem. Pickett stared down his first read to long. Then spun into sacks. Lets see how the season goes. I will look at your run break down.

You dont want to blame Matt Canada for Kenny's woes? Its quite refreshing that you didnt even mention coach canada in your comment. I have been watching football for a long time as well and the first time ive seen kenny come on a football field, I knew he wasnt it just by watching his mechanics. I was just a little surprised that there was ZERO improvement from last season. Kenny is expecting the receivers to get "college" open. I think he bit off so much more than he could chew entering the NFL draft. I dont know what he expected when he came into the league and I could honestly say that if the Steelers didnt draft him.. I dont think any other team would have.

This is extremely tailored to Fields skillset to me and honestly the offensive line they just assembled would be a killer unit for Justin to run behind 6-8 times a game. Nobody wants to see Russ cook anymore.

Exactly. This video was appreciated bc I truly just want some offensive intelligence. But this scheme is not it! We have ravens and browns this will not fly in this division

@@Slayer118four yup basicly you had all your recivers bunched up on one side of the field and while it mightve been qb freindly, the problem lied was their was never anyone open.
