For anyone that is curious, everyone wears fades in peaky blinders because it was the most practical haircut to avoid lices. In war you couldn't avoid them if you had a head full of hair so having short and faded hair could fix that.

Im a barber and i hate to say it but that looks like shit.. You can even see the barber trying to convince himself and the customer that he cut it right with all different explanations when in reality he took way too much off especially from the back

I'll start by saying the original haircut looks like shit to begin with. But yeah, Arthur's top hair is longer. I think he had it the right length at the start. Though, it seemed to be the customer wanted it shorter.

Imagine going to a barber and be like “ do you actually know arthur fooking shelby?” And the barber, smiling, be like “say no more”

It was a very working class hairstyle for that time. Having a head of hair (no shaved or bald underneath) was considered upper class.

Agreed. Also, I was cringing a little bit watching how he quite ignored the elevation he was holding the hair at to cut the straight line in the back. With that elevation if he didn't wear it slicked down all the time the hair would flip. Very important for that clean, straight line. That short undercut stuff really should never have come off. You can see it right through his thin, oiled up hair.

Honestly it's been his cut the whole time. This is the beginning of the correct hair growing on the back of his head. It's gonna be a while before it grows out. But it's the right thing to do..

I would say, from many cuts like this Step #1 would be clean sectioning! Always! Since it’s an undercut then you would zero all the way. Back & sides There’s no need for that little heel in the crown area. Would make for a cleaner look

Good work, it’s an old traditional haircut popular amongst militaries. It’s very old, it comes from the 17th century when it was very popular amongst Polish nobility and Cossacks. This fringe falls to the right, left or backwards. It looks nice with beard or moustache.

That man had such a BEAUTIFUL natural looking hairstyle. I think I would have done the make-over less extreme. Perhaps an undercut, without the extreme shave to the head, and much longer hair left at the top. I appreciate the risk, but I don't think the haircut depicted here is an improvement. (it grows back).

I go from long hair to a really pronoced cut and style quite a bit..I don't go every 6 weeks more like once or twice a year and I think its nice to get a really savage cut after having long hair for a while...I'd say do it but talk to the barber about what you really want and don't want...i find helps to be friendly and tip well if they get it right!

Razor blade sharp! I've switched to wearing the Arthur Shelby with some 30's Art Deco stacked lines in my parting side, as mine has to be skin to a high fade for work. (can't be too extreme). Dude could've done with that beard taming and shaping a little though? Lol Nice finish though.
