Hello everyone! I hope you've been well. This video is one I'm quite excited to finally be releasing for you all to see and I hope it fills you with just the cozy autumnal vibes I felt while making it earlier this month. 🍂 It's a relatively simple video editing-wise (only three overlays!), but I really wanted the footage to just speak for itself. I was heavily inspired from my friend Kristya's edits and fics on tumblr (@the-king-and-the-druidess), which I highly recommend that you check out her beautiful works, as she grasps the mystery of these two and their juxtaposing roles as king and druidess so well.
The story to this vid is also quite simple and hopefully easy to follow. It begins with Arthur, King of Camelot, as he is about to embark on a hunt with his men deep into the forest. Unbeknownst to him throughout his pursuit he is being watched by a woman who has made a home in that very forest and who with her magic causes his bow to miss the prancing deer he had thought to strike down, before carrying on with her day and her chores.
After the deer escapes, Arthur catches a glimmer on the forest floor and discovers a ring tied to a rope of leather. Unsure why he does so, he then breaks off from his hunting party to find the person it belongs to, soon finding himself at a quaint cottage deep in the forest. He knocks, but hearing no answer, takes it upon himself to enter the home and makes himself comfortable.
Moments later the same woman from before arrives at the door, carrying a bundle of firewood. She is shocked to see Arthur there in her home and immediately ducks out of the house, only to reenter a moment later at which point Arthur apologizes for having broken one of her pots.
Becoming more at ease with Arthur's presence after this display of humility, the woman by the name of Morgana welcomes him to spend the night in her home as it's growing too late for him to travel. Arthur doesn't protest, though he knows his wife Gwen must certainly be worried for him for not having returned to Camelot with his men.
In the hours that pass, the two find an easy stillness with one another and end up revealing their identities as they each come from two opposing worlds, Arthur from the High Seat of Camelot and Morgana from the mysteries of the Old Religion. It is an eye opening experience for Arthur, who up to this point, having been raised to fear those who practice magic by his late father, had continued the ban on the Old Art under his rule in Camelot. Now though, experiencing firsthand the kindness of Morgana, and knowing himself to be attracted to her, he begins to question what his father had taught him. And as it grows later, lulled as he is by the comfort of the fire and her presence, one thing leads to another and the two end up sleeping together.
It is a lot for him to ponder on his ride back home to Camelot the next morning after he bids Morgana farewell after the night they had shared, wrapped in each other's arms.
In the days that follow however, neither Arthur nor Morgana can go on about their daily lives without dreaming or thinking of one another throughout their days, until Arthur cannot bear her absence any longer and takes it upon himself to write her, while Gwen, though glad that her husband has returned home safe, cannot help but notice the change in him after his night away.
The two exchange letters for a time and even arrange on some occasions to meet in the forest Morgana calls home, Morgana introducing Arthur to the innate magic found in every bird, leaf, and tree.
It is after several of such meetings that Arthur extends Morgana an invitation welcoming her within the walls of Camelot and grants her a seat at his Round Table, as he has at long last decided to lift the ban on magic across the kingdom and wishes for her to speak as the voice for those who practice the Old Ways. It is here that the story ends. 🍁

I remember you telling me about this video and even though I've already watched it a few times, I regret not commenting on the mouth gaping job you did once again! 😍😍😍 Hozier has this magical voice and cozy vibe, it's the perfect song for a video like this! I'd love to read a fanfic based on this! It sure kinda reminds me of Bonfires but at the same time it's so much different too! A perfect storyline! 😍 (Just think of the angst you can get, these two confused for their feelings, then Gwen basically losing her husband to his true love aaaah 😍😍😍

Now that you say that, I remember that I told you about this particular project. Hey, no worries about not commenting until now. I get it. I'm just happy to hear that you enjoyed it! I agree that Hozier's voice is perfect for an edit like this. I forget exactly how I came up with the idea, but I did always want to do a vid where Morgana is completely her cottage witchy self from s4-5 when she meets Arthur and when I was listening to this track, I just knew it had to be the one! 😅 About a fic for this, I feel honored that you enjoyed the story so much that you would love to read more about it! And so if anyone wanted to write a story based on this vid here I'd totally welcome them to do just that. I just probably won't write it myself for the sake of time, since I'm still deep in s.l. I always say to myself that my au vids are really just fic ideas I'll never have the time to write. 😂😂😂I can see the similarity to Bonfires, especially in how Morgana in this story was always part of a magical community and eventually comes to join Arthur at Camelot by the end, but the two are still quite unique. About the angsty approach you mentioned, strange you knowing me, but I didn't intend for that in this vid, although I understand seeing the story this way. I almost wanted to show Arthur mutually loving Gwen and Morgana and while he keeps his relations with Morgana secret, he doesn't dream of leaving Gwen because he belongs to her and the kingdom and likewise Morgana can't live at court because she belongs to her solitude in the wilderness. Instead the two of them can only come together in the special moments they share. Now of course for the sake of a fic this can all be complicated to add to the drama and I welcome anyone who would love to write this story to do whatever they wish with it. This is so good! I love the vibes with this. The story works perfectly for these two, though I don't think I've seen many people do something like this before. Very well done, the editing was beautiful and the concept was brilliant!

I just can't believe you call this piece of art a simple editing. And indeed, it does fill us with a soothing autumnal atmosphere, like an early September autumn with summer melancholically slipping away with each day; and it was just a balm for my soul 🍀 Also, I noticed how you showed all the Nature elements incorporating them between the scenes.

Perhaps that was the wrong choice of words. I only meant that the style I used to make it was more minimal in that I didn't rely heavily on adding many effects like I do in my darker videos because the scenery is just atmospheric and beautiful all on its own. Thank you for how you describe how it made you feel. You put into words exactly how I wanted the edit to come across, and I feel so happy that it made such an impression. ☺💚🍁
