@@jans6271 Arthur did not know about his tuberculosis at that time. The last mission with Mary was in chapter 4, then Arthur had tuberculosis in the body, but there were no symptoms and Arthur did not know about it.

I think you misunderstood the point. The point was that Arthur regretted throwing away a life with Mary, even though he loved the gang, because a life with Mary was a life without crime. They never wwere able to get that life because neither were able to change, but Arthur regrets not having changed and not having left crime.

Everytime Authur coughed I cried on how strong Authur is to making it through the pain, strongest person in the entire game.

In all my years of gaming, no game death broke me like the death of Arthur Morgan. The emotional investment that was put in this game is one of the best works of art I have ever experienced. Great video man. Now if you don't mind, I'm going to replay RD2.

I hate how much time, effort, love, passion they put in this game; but then, they just pretty much abandoned it. It really is a shame, because it's a masterpiece. It needs a lot more content to Story Mode and a Undead Mode. But nope, they wanna go for their cash-cow GTA V.

man i just finished rdr2 today for the first time, and my god. i actually broke down, and didnt even wanna play the game anymore. i love rockstar games, but this game hit me so different. all the sadness, but the tension, the great story, the characters, and of course. his death. it all hit me like a rock.

My dad died from leukemia back in 2017 when the game came out and seen Arthur suffer from his sickness it was hitting hard close to home, I’ve seen my dad suffer also and getting weaker and weaker by the month. I let a tear when I finished this game. Arthur reminded me of my dad the last energy he had in him he wanted to set things right and good before he passed away. This game will always have a special place in my heart.

I have never been as attached to a fictional character as I am to Arthur. Every emotion he feels.... Every thing that makes him happy, makes me happy. I've never been as broken as I was with his death. And even after three playthroughs, I still cry so much for him. He's like a big brother to me. R.I.P Arthur, thank you.

One of the most tragic iconic characters in the history of video games. I cried so much at the end

Even through all the pain, sorrow, and doubt, Arthur still did the right thing in the end :(

we never seen him cry he just stayed strong,even do he lost everything except for the gang,in the end he lost that too and his life

The best game character ever. An undisputed hero. He doesn't have any special abilities or godly power, but his character and determination are at a level we've never seen before in any game character. I watched it with my wife. I had a hard time not to cry. Incredible.

Arthur Morgan is one of the many video game characters that I will never forget, including some of the wisdom he spoke, it will stick with me in real life.. this is what a good video-game character looks like, but I also think of him more than a character.

I cannot physically explain what this game means to me... this is simply art and best game on the planet

I've played through a lot of characters. Good, bad and in the middle. I've shed tears, I have.. but Arthur made me shed more than I have since first playing MGS, and that's an achievement.

Arthur Morgan will always be in our hearts

Arthur Morgan taught us to die and our honor is high

There is An Arthur is all of us i think thats also why we all loved him so much but especially after playing the game you realize we all are Arthur just with different names trying live right we know we dont but we try . very relatable person in the game and the voice it really hits home and the story it just is A GEM in every sense . of course a very different life but i mean as life as a whole we all do our best and want our ending to be good but it is not always good that hurts too

I've never seen or played a game with a better story. I wish he didn't die, but it was so John and them to live, and in my opinion, his was a noble one. He died doing good high honor or low. He did it for John.

Arthur's death broke me :( even on a replay...I still cry during the last mission, and as he dies. The song along can set me off. The best character in gaming, hands down. Such a journey and end :(

First time I played through I was high honor, absolute waterworks on Arthur's "last ride" such a beautiful game and cinematic experience

RDR2 and even Arthur Morgan is the best written character in history, not even movie or serial characters can compare

As much as I love GoW 2018, the more I think of how it won over this the more I feel it shouldn’t have

YOU ARE A GOOD MAN ARTHUR

Arthur realised that the crimes he committed were all for fuelling a greedy man’s ego, but realised too late. During this time, he wanted to right his wrongs by truly helping the people he loved out of the goodness of his heart, and not because Dutch told him to. I absolutely LOVED the Money Lending and Other Sins mission tree. Especially the last one. Before the last mission, he was only after the owed money and didn’t care who he hurt as long as he got the money. I love how the miner’s wife made him realise what he was doing do these people who were already poor, and if you choose to give her money to help her, he truly knew how good it felt to actually help people instead of beating them to force them to pay up. One of my favourites was the Edith downes missions, he helps the family that he ruined earlier by killing thomas downes, and I love how in a way he tells them what Mary told him to do, to run away, rebuild their lives. They also gave Dutch and even *micah* some humanity, in the good ending (and even in the bad!) Dutch truly realised his wrongs in trusting Micah, and in the end he was unsure who to even trust, his best friend dying literally below his feet, or the man who stand battered pleading Dutch to follow. In the good ending I feel like Micah had enough respect for Arthur to let him die peacefully as he knew he was dying anyway, and in the bad ending, people interpret this differently, but I love that Micah’s hand shakes before killing Arthur, almost as if he didn’t want to, as said before he had respect for him deep down. Damn I typed a LOT 💀 my fingers hurt

It really came to me, the idea of writting such a character like Sir A.Morgan here. It shows us that the mindset, the choices have already been planted beforehand but they really do not recognise it having been there. Example: Mary Linton wanting Arthur to get away from it all saying 'run away and dont look back'; Arthur doubting Dutch for every plans involves deaths of close member or putting them all on death list, so Arthur demolishes his trust which reinforces that 'dont look back'. In the end, Arthur gives it to John, and John gives it to Jack. Note: perhaps whatever choice we make, the ideas have been planted or seeded without us knowing =>the environment, society we live in. To make it simpler: It is because of that, I am like this, but I will choose to live with it or not. We are heroes, villians in someone's stories. Bless you all.

Imagine someone raising you after a real bad life and you give them everything you sacrifice things you loose things just because they helped you and even when you see them becoming bad you still pour your soul out for them and them they leave you to die just like that Also is chapter 2 dutch says to Arthur "i know you'll betray me one day" or something like that

and they "IT’S JUST A GAME"

No other game will ever get even close to the masterpiece that this game is man

In my opinion. The most hurtful decision that Arthur made was to choose between the love of his life (Mary Linton) and his family (Van der Linde Gang) He knew he can have a happy life with Mary if they run away together even if it is short or even just a few years or months. But he also knew that his family/gang is depending on him especially John Marston and his family. He sacrificed his happiness again just to save his people instead of himself. I really felt bad when he rejected Mary's offer to leave with her.

You know.... There is this thing which everyone loves a game but then it dies slowly.... This game will and always be in our hearts.... Out there there isn't a game like this... Out there isn't a game to experts this kind of emotions.....we all look when we grow up and play games... This game isn't just a game this is pure masterpiece....all the characters showed us the true meaning..... There isn't these kind of characters out there..... Out there isn't and will never be a better game than our rdr2

I’m 14, 14 playing this game, and it’s the worst pain, most joy, best time I’ve ever had playing this game. I couldn’t hold in my tears during Sister Calderon’s talk, it is the only moment in gaming I have ever genuinely sobbed. The phrases “We’ve all lived bad lives” and “Take a gamble that love exists, and do a loving act!” Will always stick with me, no matter what.

Rest in peace Arthur morgan.... I cryed my eyes out when Arthur died. This tribute is what i love... Arthur morgan is a fucking legend. His mum died his dad died his lover was murdered his 9 year old son was murdered he got TB and the ones who he trusted and followed blindly betrayed him. Red dead redemption isnt a game its a feeling a self portrait of who we all are
