What a man. In Britain everyone still talks about Arthur. RIP Mr. Beetson.
What a great man and a wonderful tribute to a legend of Rugby League.
He was one of those rare players you never appreciated just how good he was until he wasn't a player anymore.

He was an icon from the get-go. Came to Balmain in 66. Represented Australia same year. Started origin single-handedly.
When I was a kid around 1976 or 77 my folks were members of easts leagues. The club would hire out Luna Park for the members Xmas party for them and their families. I was 4 or 5 years old and I was sitting at the top of the really steep slide at coney Island not feeling real keen to go down this imposing looking slide. As I sat there staring at the big drop I felt a giant hand in my back with an accompanying 'here you go kid'. As I turned around I will never forget Artie's unshaven face and not knowing what scared me more, Artie or the drop. What a champion.
Fave attacking player. The offloads were priceless.
When I was as a young bloke playing front row for Belrose United in Sydney my dad would always say to me watch Beetson , see how he always gets his pass away and I did watch he was a great player
As an old Wests fan gotta say I Love Arthur. His friendship with Tommy speaks for itself. Two of the best.
Champion footballer, champion bloke.the best frontrower Australia has ever produced.
Loved his commentary with Warren Boland and Bombed Peard.
When you are totally Blue and love the bloke.
Great man
I was raised on Arty. Long live Arty
Good on ya Arthur. Deadly Brother
