Lovely selection of travel pallets TFS. I've ordered a Folio palette but it hasn't arrived yet. Looking forward to choosing the colours to fill.

I recently traveled to Spain for a sketching trip. I took a folio and a demi. I also had filled and dried backup pans which I put on a tin I had hanging around. I stuck a magnet inside for them all to stick to. It worked great for my backups. I also had my less used colours in there.

I like this little pallet. What I don’t like about it is it does not have a tension hinge. So when you buy the big one, it’s still fits nicely in your hand, but you have to try to support the top and the bottom in your hand. It’s not comfortable to keep your hand that wide open the whole time you’re painting if you could put a little Sleeve underneath it like you use on your iPhone you could hold the bottom very comfortably but then the top just flops open all the way. I would prefer I could bend it like I would normal easel and have it stay in 90° position. That would not take a big change, because they make some very small tension hinges that would work on this. That would make all the difference in the world. Also, I appreciate the fact that the little box is very, very slim. But if it was just a tiny bit thicker, you could put your own pans inside it with a little magnetic bottom on them and they would stay perfectly. But those hands are just a little too thick, and the little easel does not close with them in there.

i love love these palettes! sadly they’re too expensive for me to afford but love living vicariously through others loving theirs! 😍🥰

Hi Katrianna! Thanks for writing. I love them, but agree - they are on the luxury side. If you like DIY at all I have a video releasing soon that is a great alternative. I'll show you a bunch of options to make mini palettes with up-cycled objects. They are so much fun to make! :)
