thanks man. I really try to play more like a human being and use different moves and avoid repetetive gameplays :) I am glad you focussed on that, many players are just spamming 1 move all the time (when this move works against the cpu, they keep spamming it in a 20 mins video...boring as hell). I have to mention that the video where I did the rematch is more a "spamming" gameplay from me, but normally I play like in this video here :) thanks man I appreciate it!

Man, the difference in damage between the two characters is some severe bullcrap. The typical SNK boss experience. What a nasty surprise to see the player losing. I didn't remember that the game looked this good by the way. It holds up surprisingly well.

The game looks this good because they used a very high resolution to render the characters. The following time an SNK title looked this good was until KOF 12/13. I love AOF 1 and 2 for this

This was a real badass playthrough against Geese. Robert seriously is an underrated character in SNK. He really doesn't get enough recognition compared to a certain character who awkwardly tosses his hat up in the air and shouts "OK!!" For no logical reason every time he wins a little scrap. 😒

@@tarnakai7012 lol, right!? SNK kinda made him a joke character as the years went by. It's like they brought him a little closer to becoming just like Dan from street fighter, and here's a small fact, Dan is actually based on both Ryo and Robert. Plus one more thing, I did used to like Terry a lot back then, but he kinda died down on me as time went by. Now I mostly prefer his brother Andy and the Tai Kwon Do marial artist Kim Kaphwan, they're actually pretty badass once you get to know about these characters.

Back in the day i loved this game more than anything. When the arcade arived, noone knew how to perform secret moves because everyone expected the commands to be the same as in AOF1 and there was litttle access to media on fighting games. I remember codebreaking (lol) the Super moves for ryo / robert and for takuma (Different command) before everyone else and that made me the Star for quite a week. Other than that, noone in that shop could best me at AOF2. And my YT/IRL friends are here to confirm. Gods i loved everything about it, from the training to the taunts to the charging to the audio.

Yes! In AOF 1 you can break haohshokokens with light punches to avoid guard damage. In AOF2 you can only break fireballs like "Ko hou kens" or "venom strike" or something like that. You can only break Haoh schoko kens with EIji´s "Ryuu jin". Thats what I liked in this game, you can avoid guard damage, if you have the perfect timing to break those projectiles!

yeah, it is typical for 90's fighting games, that the handicap is different when you play against cpu. In my opinion it is not "hard", the cpu does play on easy almost like on hard, only that the handicap is different. For example: art of fighting 1 and street fighter 2. The best example is on mirror matches, so you can see the difference :)

Nice. I never really understood AOF2 as it's very different compared to FF or KOF :)

+TarnaKai I'm sure he will kiss the ground goodbye, Unfortunately I never got into learning AOF2 but to this day I think it's one of the best looking 2D fighters out there. The sprites are topnotch until this day IMO. I was actually researching through Geese Howard's AOF2/NeoWave form, I was lucky enough to find this match. One can dream to see these characters in their great form. I think SNK ruined their characters image in KOF. I hope they get back to their feet soon again.

+suwaidi yeah, I played art of fighting 1 on my snes back in the days, but after I saw art of fighting 2 for the neo geo emulator, I just had to learn it. It is pretty difficult, but very enjoyable! haha, glad to hear :) I know what you mean, most of the modern games are just focussing on graphics, not on gameplay anymore...pretty sad

It's funny that Robert in AOF says "Come on, Man" in English, but all of his move list is in Japanese, I guess Reception Pronunciation and Localization played a huge part in early games

You basically won. This game is very hard but i love it. More ys plsy the better you get. I was so bad originally at aof 2 I struggled to win the first round on all 4 credits lol.Now I can make it almost to the 9th fighter w.o loseing gets hard there.
