Still doing mentorship’s? I went to an art magnet in high school for traditional mediums. I recently thought myself procreate and affinity designer via Skillshare problem is I find myself getting lost in the process if I don’t have instruction or notes for certain processes. Outside of shape or form layers shadows highlights and some texture overlays it doesn’t get much fancier than that for me. My challenges are using my imagination, not having references, I spend a lot of time and cloud space collecting resources for my inspiration if I can’t find the resource I may have to change the whole concept because it’s a challenge for me to bridge the gap or invent what isn’t there, Before procreate I’ve spent hours erasing the same lines and redrawing. I get lost and or overwhelmed at a white page almost like there are too many options to choose from but that’s it’s all been done before so I want to step out of basic and cultivate something from within but I know the only way to get their is through practice and repetition of basic shapes and forms and adding shadows and highlights, I guess I also suffer in that department as well I may mend to make marks to remind myself which direction the light and shadow is coming from to keep it cohesive, I feel toward the end I start guessing and my composition suffers in 9/10 of my pieces. Maybe I over think it, I know rule of thirds and I got a template for the fibbonochi spiral tho I’m not sure how to apply it correctly to my work is lacking I really struggle with composition. I want to start streamlining it so I can make a business out of my creativity but I almost feel guilty for how much time I spend doing art and yield no reward outside of finishing a piece and posting it for a few likes. I tried my hand at surface design and have 4 online stores (zazzle, society6, spoonflower, and RB) but I’ve never made a sale.

Yes I still have a couple spots open. That’s definitely something I can help you work to overcome.

Could you do some in depth videos on drawings faces..specifically women but men would be awesome too.! I have had to desire to draw or paint some female characters and I have so much creativity and ideas are flowing however I can not for the life of me break it down for myself and I feel I tend to make things harder than they need to be. I have had a very difficult time drawing faces and humans in general. Maybe hair too.? Thank you.!

Join the discord server and you can see some before and afters. Here is a review from a recent student who took my mentorship. “My name is Cody Darmos and I'm a Freelance Illustrator. I began a Mentorship program with Austin after seeing how well he teaches Art in his KZread videos. The process was extremely collaborative and we were able to work out a schedule and pace that suited me. After I showed Austin my current skill level, he was able to identify the type of exercises and projects I needed to work on to improve. There is no magic pill to make you a better Artist, but having Austin as a coach has expedited my learning process so much faster than trying to do it on my own. Austin was able to identify my bad habits and get me back on track. If you have been struggling on the "self-taught" path like I was, I highly recommend reaching out to Austin!”

Will you ever do this in the future? Like in a year or so? I'm recovering from a health issue that keeps me from drawing. I also have a lot of things I need to do before I would get to this point. If not that's all right.

300 dollars for 4 hours..? A rate of 75 dollars per hour in an instance, where you don't actually work for that entire hour seems absurdly, almost insultingly overpriced.

You’re thinking based off your value. Having a mentor like Austin could take your from an armature to a professional in a few months. Feed back is what makes you grow as an artist and he’s offering a shortcut to those willing to pay for it. Honestly, he should be charging more for this.

Nope your simply dont understand the profession of teaching. Teaching isnt something you judge based on hourly rate. 75 dollars for an hour of private tutoring is extremely extremely underpriced. He could easily charge double that price. Teaching is judged on the value the mentor can provide.
